Tour AD-MT

Is there anyway to check to see if a Tour AD-MT is legitimate?

 

I got one for cheap off ebay in an auction that ended late night so it could be a lucky find or just got hosed.

Look at the ad di threads for spotting counterfeits. They have a lot of the same signs. First thing I do when I get one of those shafts is see if you can feel the rings and look for that white line. The real ones have a faint white line through the letters and you can feel the rings. If you search on here, there will be more detailed explanations.

The fake MT's have more grey than white in between the rings and they don't have the overlap line from the white heat label.

That is the same link I used for reference when I bought mine 6 months ago. How has that not been shut down by now???

Won an ebay auction - I will post pictures here. I was concerned as I "sniped" the auction on ebay at the last minute and got it for $160.

Then naturally I came on here and read nothing but nightmares.

I paid with Paypal + AMEX so I am sure I will get my money refunded if it is a fraud.

The ad said it was an uncut new one but seeing that it was setup by a guy in Japan I figured he setup an ad that ended around midnight when most people do not pay attention so sniping is easier. I'll post it on Thursday when it gets here.

Speaking of that shaft, I just got a Callaway Alpha 815 #14* fairway wood with the GD Tour AD MT shaft. I've only hit it a few times, but it feels really good so far.

If I continue to like it, I will get one in the new Callaway XR Pro 9* driver head at 44.5".

I love it. Have a 7s in my sldr and it feels great. I needed a bit more spin than the DI and the mt is perfect

I've seen arguments for both sides when comparing these shafts on here. When I compared my di 7s next to the mt 6s in the same sldr head it was pretty obvious to me that the mt spun more. I was getting a few knuckle balls with the DI and a really nice high penetrating flight with the mt. I know the DI was a 70 gram one but I don't know if that would have made that much of a difference. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah the fact that it is coming from Japan (didn't realize that until I saw my paypal) and that it was uncut concerned me a lot. But with paypal and amex I feel like I am covered and will just buy it off of here if this is bogus.

The AD MT should be a mid launch lowmid spin. AD is suppose to be midhigh launch with low spin (which I did not think was possible)

I'm thinking that is because of the lighting where he is. If OP can verify it is definitely a washed out looking yellow then yeah, not good.

I can feel the rings. The color I would say is a slightly duller neon yellow (we have "softening" lights at work to keep us calm). I see a really faint line through the Tour AD, but I am unsure if it is just a discoloration...

Just to be clear the faint white line goes from just under the "T"'s top line to the middle of the "o" for the length of the grey portion?

Don't the counterfeiters just use real serial numbers now that they get from authentic clubs? That would be the first thing I did if I was one. I do still think yours is real op, was just thinking out loud.

That looks a bit suspect to me. Is there a yellow "Tour AD" ghosting pattern in the white section? And the "5" of the MT-5 looks a bit sloppy when it should be perfect.

Looks off to me as well, looks as if it is lacking the proper ghosting. Also the Tour AD looks off from what I have seen before, I would be very cautious with that shaft.

Hard to see but it looks like it's missing the ghost writing "Tour AD" in the white part where it says "Tour AD" in black.. also, I checked mine and the rings do look lighter... I'll have to look closely again though..
