He did win the LIV event with the regular slant neck X5.5

 

This one looks great as well, can see it being a more comfortable transition from his normal gamer.

I love my Squareback but if they ever brought this neck to a Phantom at retail I would take a hard look.

I was looking more at the move from a slant neck mallet to a plumbers neck mallet. Brooks was in a 5.5 slant neck at the masters and now this 5.2. Scheffler doesn't use a Scotty Cameron, but he has been dominating with a plumbers neck spider.

Well, I’m dying on the hill that you can get away with more mistakes with a plumbers neck mallet than S or DB. 

 

Unless you putt on a rail.

Greg indicated as he finished the photos the Scotty rep showed up with the plumbers neck and it was “confirmed” that one would be the gamer.

With the sole having the 5.2 engraving I’d hope there will be a release of these at retail minus the tour markings.

Last in the field for the majority of the day putting, ended up besting ~15 people.

 

Paired with missing 3-4 inside 6 feet yesterday. 
 

I really hope he can get back on track with the NP2 Teryllium.

 

I can’t relate (even in the slightest) to a 5X major winner but I feel like knowing you’ve made countless clutch 3-10 footers with a putter before (compared to something new) has to be worth something.

Neither does 8 of the OWGR Top 10 using some form of mallet putter; 2 of whom (#1 & #3) have switched to the mallet the last 7 months or so.

 

Putters can be a very personal thing to some.  For others ? Not so much.

Believe me I'm very open to mallets, having gamed them for years.  Just pointing out that Brooksie won 5 majors with his blade.  Maybe he will will 5 with has mallet too.  Time will tell.

Yeah, I get it. The 5 best putters I've ever played with were, coincidentally (?) lefties and they never changed their putter.

 

The best of the 5, using a toe-down blade, tried to change to a Ping Anser type putter. Used it for a round or 2 and gave it away. Just no way of telling.

 

That said, when you see Tour guys right at/near the top of their game, IMO, giving up (IMO) some very slight distance control for some very slight forgiveness, it says something to me. (<-- insert Rory joke here)

 

And, since I don't hit the SS of the putter as often as I used to, I've noticed the difference for quite a while now.

 

I much prefer the look of a blade putter like Scottys, Anser, etc., I simply don't hit the center as often, plus, when I miss the center slightly the performance difference, as much as I can tell, is pretty noticeable.
