Doral. Another dull, flat Florida course. With lots of water. Roll on Innisbrook.
Sad, but I totally agree. I just don't see the fascination with a couple of these stops.

Someone on the Live@ coverage actually called Doral an "absolutely beautiful piece of property".Yeah, swing and a miss on that...

Rory McIlroy: most streaky, inconsistent player ever?

I don't think he needs "working on his game." He just won a few weeks ago and is coming off of an unbelievably hot stretch of golf. He just completely loses his game suddenly at random times.
His inconsistency will always be blown out of proportion because of what Tiger was able to do, but it's a shame to see his short game fall apart so easily. Short game should not be streaky.

I think "ever" is a bit of stretch. He's 25 with 19 odd wins and three majors.

The problem is, once becoming firmly entrenched as the number 1 player on the planet, the comparisons to TW are bound to take place. you can't do it though. Much like Jack Nicklaus, TW is a once in many generations type player. Rory, while clearly the best on the planet, does not have those types of credentials... Yet.

Rory is starting to heat up. I sure would have liked to see Phil play today..... One of the most popular golfers ever and we see one of his shots every 6 holes....

Maybe because he is stinking it up?

And it's official, Watson/Holmes longer the DJ

2 over thru 16. Not done much wrong, but nothing to crow about either. They're plenty of guys hitting it better. The 2nd last time they showed him, he was cussing up a storm after hitting it into the drink...

And Phil just got wet again on the Par 5 8th. He was in fairway bunker and tried to be too aggressive with his 2nd. He wasnt mic'ed this time

I didn't know that it reflects how a player is playing. They show all of Rory's shots and he isn't playing well. We have to see tiger drive to the course, fire up his glutes, and drive away from the course and play poorly, but they show all of his shots and everything in between. I think Phil has a couple of fans that would like to see how his round plays out.

Didn't know gosh darn it was cussing lol.

Rory is the # 1 ranked player, so of course they'll show him. And Tiger is the former world # 1. I understand you'd like to see more of Phil, really, I do. But his play today doesn't warrant that. Did you watch last week? He had no real chance to win, and yet they kept showing him. On Sunday, they hardly showed the eventual winner, Padraig Harrington, after he had a bad few holes. It is what it is

He's easily the second best player of the last twenty years. They're going to cover him. And rightfully so..

It's not always about performance anyway. That's been made ABUNDANTLY clear over the last few years by the tendencies of network coverage...

Au contraire. It is. Unless your name is Rory or Tiger, if you're playing badly, they usually dont show it on the telly. It goes against the whole "These Guys Are Good" mantra.

Phil gets enough coverage. As could be seen last week. And in Phoenix. Etc. But unless he plays well this week, it's not gonna be that week. Trust me

I've played 18 quite a few times. Think we play it around 430. The hole is right in front of you...no trouble that you can't see. There's even a decent amount of fairway out there if you hit a smart shot and accept a longer approach.

I've pared it, once. Bogeyed it, once. You don't want to know about a few of the others. It just does something to your mind.

After being four over through nine, it's impressive that McIlroy has now got it back to level for the day. Surprised to see the leaders at -8 but I would expect them to come back to the field at some point.
