miura help

Thinking about trying a set of these. What is the best head. Does anyone play a combo set of blades and cavity back. Would love some info. Thanks

I love my Miuras. They are a "better players" iron, and their cavity backs play like a blade. I have a mixed set, and like it very much.

One thing about Miura. They don't offer any technology (speedpocket, forgiveness, etc). For me, they are all the same (I have tried 3 models so far from their CB to PP line). What Miura has to offer is their forging quality (the classic look too). So if you get to try them, pick the one with the best feel.

I love the looks. I currently game nike vapor pro (pw-8) and the combo (7-5). I would be curious how the limited tech might have effected your distance and I do realize many clubs now have jacked up lofts but the MB-0001 have identical lofts to my nike pros. Thanks for all the help

I have a set of the Retro Tournament Blades with Rifle Flighted 5.5s and they are fantastic. I have demoed the PP 9003 with Steelfiber i95s and they were easy, smooth and automatic. I have hit 501s with various shafts and again, solid club. To me with Miura it is really up to you which head feels and looks best to you and finding the right shaft. Do not be afraid of the blades. You will gain instant feedback from each strike. Really helps if you are a swinger and not a hitter but even if you are, these cubs are great. I am a highball hitter but can flight it down and occasionally work the ball both ways, still learning to trust my swing to do so.

As mentioned, no gimmicks or new clubs every quarter, just a solid club that will help you become a better ball striker and grow with you. I have played Mizuno (MP 32, T Zoid Pro), Titleist (DCI) and many others. I still like hitting other clubs but the Miuras will be my main sticks and my collection of others will be travel sets.

When hit out of the sweet spot they're just magic .if you miss slightly , you will gain instant feedback but you will not get punished severely for it .
Check em out but as everybody is suggesting......Get properly fit into an appropriate head and shaft that works for you !

Thanks for your feedback. I'm waiting for the next gen of PP9003 from Miura Giken..... I hope the next gen has less offset.

You do of course realise that there are 2 versions of the PP9003s ?
The standard and the straight neck version that has less offset !
I play the straight necks and they are a hell of a club .
I kinda get the feeling that you might be waiting for a model that's already out there .

They feel like they load better than the KBS in my Ping S55.

I may change out the KBS. I'll wait til i can hit them both on the course to make that determination.

I hit the 501's and love them. When pure they are as long as any club out there but you do lose a lot of distance on mishits. It's made me a better ball striker but hard to swallow at times in a round. If you are a great ball striker get miuras. If you aren't.... Look elsewhere. Just my thoughts. Hope they help.
