Funniest moment today... Hole 2, fabbs partner and my partner are getting strokes.

 

My partner just chipped to 10 feet laying 3.

 

Fabbs partner has about 50 feet, laying 3. He goes, "get ready to pull this out of the cup".

 

He hit the putt... No crap... 45 feet past the hole. It might have been the worst putt I've ever seen.

 

He made the comebacker for 5.

 

My guy missed.

That two-putt on number two was hilarious. City isn't exaggerating about how bad the first putt was. It legitimately went about twice as far as it needed to go. From 50ft away, that's just a comical speed error. Draining the come back to halve the hole was awesome.

 

Not much worth recapping about my round. I'm working on the swing more than anything right now. Continuing to hit the ball crisply, and overall starting to decrease the right-to-left curve. A few of them early that cost me big, but really started grooving it as the round went on. I'm definitely feeling good about where it's heading. I need to keep getting reps, and I'll be back, and better than ever. I had maybe the worst putting day in a long time. I just felt really uncomfortable. Hit a bunch of decel pushes on shorter putts for some reason. I'm not really worried about it, though. Overall, probably scored the ball about as bad as I possibly could have, with the way I struck it. Not super concerned about that when my primary focus is getting the swing in order.

 

City had a sneaky good round going, but just gave a few too many back coming in. It's great to see his game improving with all the work he puts in. I actually don't think he's giving up much yardage with the driver. He could probably squeeze a few yards out of something different, but I don't know how much it would help his scores. He's at the point where you're really taking a fine-tooth comb to your game to try and keep dropping strokes.

 

Turf was nice. The course is in great shape. We walked as a fourball in 3.5, which was fantastic. Getting done earlier than expected left time for a beer, but I had to pass unfortunately. We played with a couple members city knows. Real nice guys, with some sneaky game.

Ball was back. Pin was middle. Then, ball was front.

 

You could only hit a putt with such distance differentials with a middle pin.

 

I had such a nice round going. Then, I've never gone from feeling so good over the ball to feeling nothing over the ball. The front side out there is the tougher side, and I made it through at even, so I'm thinking +2 or +3 is definitely in play.

 

Hit ONE green on the back. Made a couple nice U&D, and missed a couple easy ones.

 

Kind of just lost concentration, especially after we had the 18 hole match in the bag. Sometimes when I start out playing well, I forget to do the things that got me there. I start getting too casual.

 

Ah, well. Bachelor weekend for El City. OD'ing on golf (hopefully), then heading to the beach for a week so no golf.

So, earlier this year during Demo Day, I got "fit" into a 917D2 with a Rogue Silver 60g shaft. They did actually put me on a launch monitor, and tried different shafts and heads and stuff. And, I did actually hit this club.

 

So, I ordered one off Global Golf. They had an additional USED code. it wound up being like $240. I have that shaft at home, but I'll try it with the one it comes with first.

 

I got a bunch of underwear, snell balls, a "Yeti", and gloves. I really didn't need golf stuff, but that was fun.

I was thinking about this while playing today, 2 6 or 7 hole loops would be fun. The last 3 par 3's on the front could easily be merged into one longer hole. The fairways have some crabgrass in them but the greens are actually in really good shape and roll true. It is perfect for a quick round before work, played in 1:45 minutes for $22 bucks which is the weekend rate and was done by 8:15.

 

Was thinking this could be a good spot for an irons only Hive event.
