Hey guys,

I just graduated from college this May and will be moving to Boston soon. I won't have a car, and my closest T Stop will be on the Green Line. Will it be possible to get to any courses using only public transportation? Thanks.

I have ridden the T 1000's of times and I can't ever remember seeing any golfers...

To my knowledge there aren't many easily accessible public tracks off the T. I do know Brae Burn CC is literally on the Red Line but that is it. Someone else might have a better idea

You can get to newton commonwealth. I've done it a few times. Take the green line to Boston College and then it's a 5-10 min walk

Yep, for the Green Line, Newton Comm is your best bet - it's at the end of the B line. I think you can get to Putterham in Brookline if you get off at the "Reservoir" station on the D line and take a bus. Lastly, you can get off at "Woodlawn" on the D line and walk 20 mins to Leo J. Martin.

I think you're thinking of Woodland CC, which is literally bisected by the Green Line. The same train runs right along the edge of Brae Burn just to the east.

On the original question:

(1) Newton Commonwealth from the end of the B Line;
(2) Leo J. Martin from the end of the D Line;
(3) Franklin Park from the end of the Orange Line;
(4) George Wright from the Commuter Rail (which you'd have to time correctly).

You are correct, Riverside starts the green line right? That is what I was thinking of

Unless you're absolutely desperate, and even then, I wouldn't recommend playing Leo J. I can't speak for what the other courses are like.

Newton comm is definitely the closest to the BC stop on the green line.

I just recommend taking an Uber since u will have your bag with you and there's already no room on the goddamn train.

You can take commuter rail to South Shore CC, really short walk from one of the stops. Newton Comm is a brutal track, super short, really should be 9 holes on the amount of land they have. Weekend rounds at Newton Comm are 5+ hours guaranteed I avoid that place like the plague. I would recommend using Uber to get to George Wright, thats the best course close by the city.

I live in Cleveland Circle shoot me a message if you wanna get out some time and need a ride.
