Where is Everyone?

I'm asking this in a general way like... I live in south Florida... or more specifically... I live in Margate Florida.

I'm not asking for addresses and phone numbers here. I was just thinking it would be fun to find another Vintage Player in the general area to play an occasional round with. If everyone calls out we might find some new playing friends.

I do get tired of being the only odd ball on the course sometimes. ;)

All Forged, all the time.
The Sets that see regular playing time...
67 Spalding Top-Flite Professional, Cleveland Classic Persimmon Driver, 3 & 4 Spalding Top-Flite Persimmon Woods, TPM Putter.
71 Wilson Staff Button Backs, Wilson System 3000 Persimmon Driver, 3 & 5 Woods, Wilson Sam Snead Pay-Off Putter.
95 Snake Eyes S&W Forged, Snake Eyes 600T Driver, Viper MS 18* & 21* Woods, 252 & 258 Vokeys, Golfsmith Zero Friction Putter.

We discussed a vintage event a few years ago, and Stu offered to host in SC, then things fell apart a bit.

I know we're spread everywhere from the Canadian Prairies, to Minnesota, from Florida, to California.

Was letting my wife know the other day we'll be going down to SC in one of the next two winters - have to go for a round with Stu and Randy. Maybe you guys could meet in Georgia for a round?

The past couple of winters my wife and I have made our way down to Florida to catch a bit of spring training. We found the best route for us (coming from Ontario) is to go I77/79 through Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Columbia, Savannah, etc. I'm pretty sure that we almost drive right by Stu and Randy. It would be fun to stop by that vintage golf shop in Lenoir one year too, so if you ever get this together, count me in!

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent

Pretty sure we could convince the battery bunny and Uncle Bob to join us too. They're stuck in the midwest all winter.

Guessing Tim is looking for a slightly more regular Floridian partner, however.

We're on I 95 from Jacksonville until we get to I 26 to head to Columbia. From there we head north to Charlotte on I 77 until Beckley and then cut cross country to I 79. We may not have been real close, but it was in the neighbourhood! ;)

This is intriguing, "Geezer Golf". Or the first annual "Classic Posters Shootout". The Mrs. has wanted to go to Charleston, SC and Savannah for some time. All obligations that has required us to stay close to home are now over. The logistics are daunting (heck, I have issues with my golf buds and they live 5 miles away) but it would be a gas if we could pull this off. Something in March? Let's keep this one percolating as we move forward towards next year. Bookmarked for future reference.

How many strokes are ya'll giving me?

Laissez les bons temps rouler!

I'm not sure y'all would wish to have my swing inflicted upon you. If you were to sign a waiver, maybe we could make some effort in that direction. LOL

I visited that area a couple of times back in 2008-09. Beautiful country and some of the nicest people anywhere.

I'm just west of Atlanta.

And if you play persimmon, you're my friend

Interesting. Several Mid-Westerners. I moved my broken body down here from SW Wisconsin 6 years ago because the winters there were kicking my @ss. I also enjoy being able to play golf year around. :D

I'm in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I usually play at Maple Ridge Golf Course which is a muni in town. It is one of the few public, parkland-style courses around here. However, in a couple of days I get to play at the Calgary Golf & Country Club. It is a 1922 Willie Park Jr. design which is the oldest private course still in play in Alberta. Now I just have to decide which clubs to take with me.
