$2600 garage simulator build (and updates on using it for my game)

It's only saying 1695 for me

I can't even get it below 1,995 - are you guys using a code?

Check to see which package your purchasing. You may be purchasing the package which includes the Game Improvement as well as WGT. You can add those later if you choose to do so, which is why i just went with the bare bones SkyTrak. I will see how well i like the driving range feature and then expand from there.

I don't have an impact screen. I just use my iPad. Works fine, but I don't play sim, just range and gip.

What i'd like to do is hook up at TV to a laptop and then run an HDMI cable to the TV. If i just use an iPad, then i'll use Apple TV to airplay the iPad screen onto the TV. I mainly want to use ST for range and target practice.

To those of you who own a SkyTrak. Do some of you have a set up that doesn't include an impact screen? I am mainly focused on having a place to hit balls and not have to deal with keeping the mat and net up all the time. In a perfect world, i would put up the net whenever it's in use and take it down afterward. What i'd like to do is put up a 50" TV or so in my garage and simply hit shots into the netting and then look on the TV screen to see where the ball goes.

Those of you who play Perfect Golf or The Golf Club, can you advise what type of computer you are using? Can a simple MacBook Pro run the software or do you really need a full fledged gaming PC to play the golf sim games w/ Skytrak?

TIA

Lots of answers on this forum concerning skytrak and computers. http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/skytrak or https://www.youtube.com/user/Par2ProVirtualGolf/videos?shelf_id=2&sort=dd&view=0 and their website http://www.par2pro.com/

I only use my skytrak for range. I have a net with iphone 6 and plug it directly into an old projector with lightning to DVI? connector. No wifi where i have it so streaming wasn't an option plus I think going direct versus apple tv works better. I project to a wall facing me not onto a screen. So I am using it just like Bangta was with his tv. Perhaps the golf net return like he has would be the way for you to go. see post #489 if you missed it.

The $1695 promotion is over, in most places.

I'm going to be super disappointed if they don't ship mine to me at the price of $1195. I know i probably got lucky thanks to a system glitch, but that's not my fault.

I just received a shipping notice and tracking #. Hot damn

I have the exact same Net Return and a CCE real feel 5'x5' mat. I think what i'll probably do is hang a TV on the wall and run a Lightning to HDMI adapter to my TV. The only drawback i see from not having a screen and projector set up is i won't always be facing and looking at my target, rather just looking at an empty net.

where is the skytrak for 1695? it's 2k on the website.

nevermind, it was an expired code.

Rock Bottom Golf is currently selling them for $1695. If you purchase directly from SkyTrak, then they are full retail i believe.

They're back to $1,995. Skytrak was running a $300 off promo but believe that expired

I'm super bummed I didn't jump on it when I had it pulled up. I was hopping off the bus to get in my car and figured I'd deal with it when I got home, and at that point, the price changed back to $1695 :(

Wow....fantastic setups shown here. I already wanted a Skytrak, but now I REALLY want one!

I bet this has been covered, but honestly I haven't read the entire thread. But would someone mind to summarize the basic space needs?

I have 9 foot ceilings, in both basement and garage. I would just use the driving range mode, mainly for my son who is a highly competitive 15 year old. He plays a lot of tournament golf and the winters are getting harder and harder here.

We have a space in the basement where it might work, depending on the space requirements.

TIA

What about from the mat to the net? How many feet are required?

It depends if you run a projector, or just hit into a net and use a monitor to the side. If you go the projector route, you'll have to consider shadows that you'll cast on the screen. That's why a lot of people go with a short throw projector that will allow them to place the projector 6ft or less. If you don't get a short throw, you will likely have to place the projector 15ft or more from the screen which will force you to stand further back from the screen.
