Planning on attending a festival in Bangor august 6th. Driving up from NJ. How is the weather around that time and any close motels to the pavilion. It's the rise above fest. Smooth drive usually?

The drive up sucks. Mostly because of New York City and Connecticut. Then it gets a little easier and once you get past Boston, it's smooth sailing, though. Probably noon ish is the best time to miss New York traffic unless you want to drive at night or on the weekend.

 

That is absolutely the sweet spot of the year weather wise. Just about the time I go up for my dad's member guest.

 

Can't really help on hotels.

I think Mad is from "The County", google Aroostick County Maine... Waaaay north of Bangor. Maine is a huge state, but with a low population.

 

I'm from Southern Maine, think the Kittery area. I live in NH now and can hit a PW over the boarder to Maine.

I am from southern Maine and my wife is from Bangor. we got married on august 10th and the weather was 77°, zero% humidity and not a cloud in the sky........good thing because it was an outside wedding. i am going home in July/August as well and can't wait to play!!! i had a matching set of clubs shipped because mine always seem to get lost in Istanbul. if you get the chance to stop on your way up please please check out Dunegrass in Old Orchard Beach you WILL NOT be disappointed. also Old Marsh country club is a very well kept and beautiful course. http://themainegolftrail.com that should help you out. good luck!!

Went to local show on Tuesday. Seen Asking Alexandria and Bullet for my Valentine. Great time,all though alot of crowd surfers. Got kicked in the head a few times. The pit was crazy!

I'm from the Bangor area. Best place to stay for the concerts is at the casino which is just down the street. If you're going to play golf, Bangor municipal is always nice.

No golf on the schedule just show if I can make it. Might be seeing Bush and chevelle on the 5th here in Jersey then drive up.
