I just depends. I've played in 112, but I only made it 9 holes. I will typically stay away from anything over 100.

Dry heat (north texas/arizona)....I haven't found a temp that is too hot and that includes playing in 110 plus

 

Orlando/Houston/South Carolina mid summer with 100% humidity...I don't know what the temp is, but there is a breaking point. Playing in crazy humidity with 95+ temperatures is BRUTAL

Random Thoughts

• I often wonder how our forefathers suffered through intense heat without the benefit of AC.
  

 

It was colder before global warming;) Not to mention they were in a cooling period (i.e. little ice age) up about 1870 or so. And they also didn't have AC. They developed a lot more heat tolerance.

 

Heat depends a lot on the situation. Have you been in 100 degree weather for the past 2 weeks so you have adapted or are you flying some place where it is 70 and you walk off the plane and it is 110? What is the sun like? And obviously are you walking or riding? It isn't so much the exercise as the ability to lug 5 gals of cool drink (and no beer doesn't really count). If you are riding a cart, golf isn't strenous to cause issues unless you are in poor shape or it is insanely hot (110+. The degrees after 105 or so seem to matter much more than the increases from 95 to 100). Up to you to decide if it is pleasant enough to go outside or not.

At 4:30 today it's 108 here in Central California. That's too hot for me. I can take it up to about 105 but over that is not fun at all.

What we have had on Long Island for the month of July has been too hot for me. I've only played twice. Looking forward to SEP, OCT, NOV. Best months for golf on Long Island. :golfer:

I play early and ride, so it's never too hot. Played in Vegas a couple years ago and it was 110. That was hot for this western NY boy.

Played in 40+centigrade heat numerous times. Heat was bearable, chaffing on my butt and thighs not!

 

Cannot stand the cold even though I love having that fresh crisp air flow on your face when you walk.

A good way to look at this is: Golf was developed in Scotland and with the weather they have there, playing in 95* F / 35* C was not supposed to be a concern. :tongue: Who knew?

Ya, coastal SoCal is great. Go inland and it heats up fast.
