Just how tall are these guys again?

The picture of Woz and Rory is funny. She looks like the nanny walking her charge to school.

I was at the Western Open with a friend years ago and we were waiting for Greg Norman to walk off the 18th green at Butler National. We were standing on level ground next to the path when we saw Norman, in all his tan and leathery resplendence, appear through a chute of trees. As he approached us, my mind was telling me there was something wrong with this picture. Like somebody switched out Greg Norman with a miniature version of Greg Norman. As he passed, I could look straight over the top of his hat. I'm 6' 1.75", barefoot, and my friend similar. I turned to look at my friend, probably wearing the same "what the heck did we just see?" expression on my face that he had and he said, "Dude, we towered over The Shark." Previous to that, I had heard or read somewhere, the tosh about Norman being 6'2".

I saw Tiger at Cog Hill, and I'd give him 6ft. legit. Maybe a little more with his spikes. I might have been most surprised by the size of the caddies. All had enormous, Mark Prior sized calves. Some of them looked like bodyguards. Steve Williams was a big, imposing dude.

I think, generally, it's true t.v. adds 10lbs and it can exaggerate or downplay certain characteristics. I was at a club in Chicago and I turned around to walk to the bar and immediately in front of me was the tallest man I had ever stood next to. He had his back to me and his waist was basically at my eye level. I begged his pardon, to get to the bar, and I noticed it was Robert Parrish, the Chief. What struck me was how skinny he was. VERY thin waisted. He did have wide shoulders, but this was not the onyx mountain of a man I would watch on television. So tall and thin that he almost looked fragile.

Tiger is probably just a smidge over 6', but very small framed, Nicklaus nearly 5'11 in his prime though well under 5'10 at this point with age. Vijay is legit around 6'3.

Erie is a big dude, tall and big frame. So is Phil.

Nick Faldo was the biggest surprise when I first saw him in person. He's a really big guy, about 6'3, but like Els, big frame and projects larger for his height.

Nick says he is 6'-5". I believe him.

Robert Karlsson was/is the tallest player on tour I have heard a few times (think he is 6'5"). In this picture it looks like he has almost 2 inches on Nick..

I see Robert around town at youth soccer games etc. every bit of 6'5". Maybe more.....a really tall guy proportioned like an athlete. Actually surprised he wasn't a world beater.

Tiger is not much taller than Kevin hart. haha

In real life Tiger is not 6 foot anything unless you say is is 6 foot minus two inches.

I am 5'11 1/2" and Tiger was/is clearly taller than I am. In truth, unless standing back to back, these comparisons are silly and what difference does it make?

Also reported on these boards are how so many of these guys may could play linebacker, etc.... not even close. In shape? Absolutely but when a 6-6'1" guy wearing medium fit shirts in closeups on TV in which it is well known that the camera adds 10-20 lbs is just crazy to think this relates to playing LBer in the NFL.

As an example, Tiger = medium frame, in great shape with tight fit shirts likely 200-215 lbs.

Listing Brian Harmon as 5'7 is ridiculous. If he's 5'4 he's lucky. The dude was exactly the same height as my wife. He and Lingmerth are borderline midgets.
I'm waiting for Harmon and Lingmerth to file suit against a bunch of cities for building the sidewalks too close to their azzes.

Stood next to him in a Louisville hotel at the PGA a few years ago. If I recall, he had done well to that point in the event. The guy was small in size.
