Man I just made the switch from Bushnell to Leupold. I had a Tournament 1600 that I got in 2012. The battery cap never stayed snug so duct tape has kept it alive to this point. After a back and forth bonanza with Bushnell, they sent me a new battery cover that didn't resolve the issue, I wanted to send it in for repair and they rejected that as the model I have is no longer serviced by their repair department. They offered me a discount on a newer model.

I don't know much about the GX 2i2 because I bought the 4i2 after reading multiple stories of Leupold's willingness to go above and beyond to repair or replace for the lifetime of the product. Regardless of which rangefinder is better, knowing that if I just dropped $400-$500 bucks on a product that I need to work on the golf course and if it doesn't will get fixed was worth the switch for me. Also their lenses are far and above more clear, weight is down from most Bushnells, and the LED display is much more vivid.

I'm getting a Leupold GX-2i2 for Christmas! Been using a Bushnell Compact Yardage Pro 600 for probably 15 years & decided it was time for an upgrade. I've seen good reviews on this unit but wondered how my fellow WRXers like it? Thanks...

I got the Leupold GX-2i2 a few months ago. Got a great deal on it and couldn't be happier. Compared to my buddy's Bushnell, the build quality is definitely better on the Leupold.

Looked and compared Leupold to Bushnell for a couple months before pulling the trigger. Borrowed a buddies Bushnell V3 for a round and decided to go Leupold route. went GX-3i2 and really am thrilled with how great it is. Personal preference but just feels solid in the hand, never have problems locking in and the optics are awesome.

Now that you've used the GX-2i2 for awhile, how do you like it?

I like it for the most part. Fast & accurate, compact; has all the things I considered most important. If there's anything I'd change, it's the location of the readings. The yardage is in the lower right of the eyepiece & the "True Golf Range" or slope is in the upper left. I wear glasses & feel like I need to press against the eyepiece to see them clearly. Wish they were above & below the target in the center of the eyepiece if that makes sense.

I know this is an older thread but I'd like to chime in. I purchase my GX-2i2 two years ago. The price was right, considerably lower than the Bushnell models . I didn't have another range finder to compare because it was my first. I bought it new when it first came to market. I bought it because of the reviews from other Leupold range finders. It fits in your hand very easily and the functions, although not initially intuitive, make sense after repeated use. I carry it in the golf cart in the case and it only takes a few seconds to pull it out and get a reading. Since I don't play in tournaments, I leave the slope on and the fog mode off.

There are inherent learning curves with range finders and I've experienced my share. Last year on one hole, I pulled out the range finder and it measured 129. I hit a perfect 129 club and the ball sailed over the green! I pulled out the range finder again and, yep, 129. I hit another over the green. It was then that I noticed I was inside of the 100 yard marker and had been scanning the trees behind the flag. I was only 86 yards.

Most of the courses I play don't have the prisms on the flags but the few that I have played make the range finder all the better. It is nice to hear the beep when the distance is measured.

I wish the display was red like the Bushnell but if I had to buy another, I'd buy it again.

I'm now a couple of weeks in with a GX-2i2, which was replacing a gigantic Bushnell that I'd had from nearly 15 years, and I'm very pleased. Clicking like a camera instead of holding down the button til the laser "locks" is a nice feature, and the size and weight alone make it a great upgrade for me.

My only complaint is really more of a question, which is whether or not the slope feature underestimates the change in distance at least slightly. To early to tell, but it seems so?

I have the same model and could not be happier with it. The rest of my foursome have Bushnell and they are no where near the quality of the Leupold by any measure. Great piece of kit!!!

I think it does. Not so much downhill or moderately uphill, but on a steep uphill grade I definitely think it's underestimating.

I'm still trying to figure this out, really. I've got three or four holes on my home course that I always assumed played a half or full club longer, and the slope factor on the Leupold doesn't confirm that. Interesting...

I am on my second Leupold - Not because of a problem, but rather to upgrade. In the 5 years of ownership I have not had any problems with either one. In fact I wanted to have a problem since the customer service of Leupold rivals that of Callaway fame. I know several people that sent theirs in to fix the issue and ended up having a brand new new model returned to them!

I'm one of these people. Had my 3i for ~5years and the battery cover kept coming loose. Sent it in and they sent me a brand new 2i.

How does it compare to the precision pro nx7 that seems to be hot on the forum?

I have a GX-3i2 (very happy with it) and a buddy just bought a 2i2 and was having trouble getting readings, so I gave it a try. My friend was new to rangefinders so I thought it was operator error, but that wasn't the case at all. Either my friend 1) bought a counterfeit, or 2) bought a defective model, or 3) the 2i is just terrible, but either way, I was having the same problems he had. I told him to return it to the Amazon seller where he got it. It couldn't lock in on targets sometimes, no matter how long we tried to get a reading.

As an aside, the 3i2 is built rock solid, and the 2i2 felt like cheap plastic.

Have him send it in to Leupold, their customer service is fantastic. I agree they lessened the case material, but then again its the guts that count and the quality inside the case is still the best.

I've only taken mine out of the box but pondering selling it because I'm not sure I need one at this point. GPS may be more beneficial for my game...
