I'd say late 70s. The Eye2 emerged in 1982, can't imagine someone trying to sell a knockoff of a 70s design while the Eye2 were in full bloom...

Didn't think they would be much, they're in perfect condition with truetemper shafts, debating if I want to spend the money on getting them regripped.

If you get the grips yourself, you'll only be into it for around $50, unless you go crazy on some exotic grip.

Do you know what flex TT shaft they have? It was pretty common for these knock-offs to have TT Lite....but, if they are real early, they would still be TT Dynamic.

How far is the last step on the 5-iron to the top of the hosel?

That will give an idea of flex....why re=grip is the flex is nowhere near what you want/need?

just my 2 cents worth

Just hit them the way they are until you can determine whether they're worth the effort and money of a regrip.

I wouldn't dismiss them out-of-hand necessarily as I found the Eye 2 clones I have to be very playable and consistent. That said, I was looking at a set of Karsten III's back in the spring at a club swap for only $65 for 3-PW, so the real deal isn't going to set you back much either.

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent

Took them to the range, they hit nice and the shafts are perfect length, the grips are nearly disintegrated. I like the basic no frills look of the Ping style clubs, Dicks has grips $2.99 ill just regrip the 3-4-6-8-pw and try them out this spring.

Hireko has Karma wrap style and velvet style grips for $1.19. I've used a bunch of these for my thrift store clubs. They play just fine and are durable as well.

It should go without saying, but if you hit them well it makes no difference that they are clones or something other than a brand name. The only thing that matters is how they play. You could go to the store and drop a thousand on a set and not be able to hit them at all. The ball has no idea what is the brand, or for that matter the age, of the club that hit it.

"You think we play the same stuff you do?"

Some Karma grips would be an excellent choice. Bar Keepers Friend mixed into a paste works wonderfully to spiff up stainless steel. Use a toothbrush and work it into the metal and then let it soak for a few mins before rinsing. You will be amazed how nice those clean up.

I've never tried that but you can bet I will be. Thanks for the tip!

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
