As noted where? Far as I can tell, mine was the first mention of RMR in this thread. What exactly is the issue with it?

Opinions on RMR are expressed here: http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/179150-traveling-to-phoenixsome-course-info-for-you/page__st__1260#entry16184550

Some view it more favorably than I do. In the world of enjoying courses I believe that there is no such thing as right and wrong. People like what they like and I'd never tell anyone that they are wrong when they like a course or for that matter hate a course. That said, I think it is an objectively terrible golf course.

I've never played Ambiente. Everyone here raves about it. I will play it eventually. just curious what makes this course stand out amongst you golf veterans.

Great design. Wide fairways. Undulating greens. Good bunkering. Some fun short par 4s. A par 3 that is sort of like a Biarritz. Same designer as Erin hills and I can see the similarities.

Agree with the overall sentiment here but you’ll notice that the back has a few tee shots that are almost exactly the same and that it feels like it was jammed in the middle of a neighborhood because it was. I think it is a very good overall course that made the best use of the corridors available.

Papago Friday. Really nice green speed and condition - I was able to keep a lot of approach shots within a yard of my ball mark. Fairways were a little wet. Pace was ridiculous - 5 hrs 10 min.

Wildfire Palmer Saturday. Greens were pretty good, course was wet, bunkers seemed to be OK. POP was 4:10, so not too bad, especially given we tee'd off mid morning.

What's your opinion of the design & layout?

Better than Palmer but nothing special. Weird yardage 3300 front 3600 back, the 14th? (Short par 4 maybe 15th) is one of the dumbest short par 4's I have played. Kinda looks risk reward but the risk is far greater than the reward. Just a boring iron/hybrid off the tee wedge in. I also think the green severity does not match the shot on quite a few holes. Early on with shorter approach shots you have fairly flat greens. On the back when you start getting into longer approaches into holes you have a couple very severe slopped greens.

I love the 6th hole short par 4 with a wash in front of the green not short enough to be drive able but all about the angle into a very narrow kidney type green requiring a precise wedge shot to hold the green.

GCU a couple times in the last few days. Overall its in good shape. Greens are superb, fast and rolling true. A few bare spots in the fairways. Greenside bunkers are getting a bit thin, had a few rocket the last 2 rounds. Both groups I played with had issues as well. Hopefully they will address it during fall maintenance. POP was at 4 hours today teeing off @ 1000. Perfect weather for golf the last few days.

What has happened to Aguila lately? All bunkers were washed out and left as mud holes. Some even had grass growing in them.

Played there on Sunday, they said that they were really damaged by storms so they are going to redo them when they oversees. Right now they are playing them all as GUR. Otherwise course was in really good shape.

Thanks for the info. It sure seemed out of character for them.

Playing Saguaro tomorrow with BUCKEYERBALL88 with a 10/16 overseed start the course should be pretty pure similar to Faldo last week. This will be the last golf weekend for me for 4-6 weeks, just not worth trying to figure out which course is playable and paying a higher rate for sub par conditioning. 1st anniversary is next weekend so we have a big day hike planned and no golf. Figure I can put 4-6 weeks worth of greens fees into the Bandon fund and would be a better use of $

I played it today. The fairways were great and the greens were hard but receptive but not very fast at all. The practice green was so much faster then the green on the course i would not spend much time on it. The sand was very hard and not sure if that is how it always is or not but very hard to spin the ball out of it. It was my first time to play it and loved the layout.

Cholla yesterday

In great shape. Firm & fast. Fairways scalped a few hours before I played the course. The fairways were brown but excellent. Greens rolled true around 10.5.

Pace of play was excellent. Played as 2 some in 3h 15m including waiting on most shots on the front 9. The combo of elevated greens w/ steep run offs & Bermuda limit your options. You can only really hit a high chip. I really dislike the design hence part of the reason I’m not renewing my we ko pass. 4-6 terrible holes. Too many split fairways

If I have 10 rounds to play I’m going:

9 saguaro

1 cholla

Biltmore Links today for a work event. Terrible course and in crappy shape. Greens were full of ball marks and extremely slow. Fairways were both burnt out and wet. I can't think of anything good to say about it.

LOL...was listening to Bunker to Bunker show this morning on the way to play and the guys were talking up Biltmore as one of the best courses in town. I was laughing so hard.

Wekopa Saguaro.

Good, too bad the overseed is coming everything was nice and dry bermuda in great shape. Greens looked a bit scraggly but putted pretty well.

Same at Eagle Mtn....they shut the course at noon. it was awesome playing it so fast and firm. As we were off 18, they were 'destroying' the putting green...I think a small tear dropped from my eye.

Vistancia

Conditions-excellent. Too bad they overseed in about a week.

Pace-lots of stop & go. Finished in 3 hrs.

Layout/design-good. One of the better gary Panks design I’ve played. Wide off the tee. Not a challenging course. Only difficulty is length. Excellent finishing holes.

Greens-pretty smooth around 10? A few bumps.

Good practice facility and clubhouse

Routing-awful. Flat but very spread out green to tee b/c it’s residential.

Whirlwind Cattail this morning. Course was very good condition. Greens were fast and pretty firm. Some of the better Bermuda I have seen this summer. 4:10 pace for 8:15 tee time was good. Might try to get out there again before overseed.

The rye looks like it came in well on Devil's Claw. Should be playable when course opens in two weeks.
