The Tarnowski flagrant 1 was bs, no way that was a fla grant 1. Ncaa men's basketball has become a joke with all the stoppages for nitpicking reasons, it is making the game much less enjoyable to watch.

 

this was a poorly played game, it just happened to be close so it kept it interesting.

Meeks was a foot and a half out of bounds on the tie up call, just horrific officiating but it's been that way all year so why expect anything different.

 

 

 

In fairness there was also the phantom "tipped" 3 that ended up staying with Gonzaga and led to the NWG prayer 3

Probably the worst officiating, for both teams, I have ever seen. At least the three stooges swallowed their whistles somewhat the last few minutes.

Yep. Just like the UNC-Kentucky game. When they don't completely control the game, it gets entertaining. Like the last five or six minutes tonight.

The thing is though, even though the Carolina player didn't tip the ball, he did hit the shooter's hand. It was very, very minimal, but similar contact was called on a three point jump shot at least twice in the first half.

In all seriousness, and it pains me to say it, but Carolina is doing a good job of recruiting players who stay for more than a year. Duke used to be that way but the last bunch of years there has been at least one 1-and-done coming out. That upper class experience and talent is what keeps them going deep in the tourney every year.

Refs went to the monitor to review the mugging and saw how bad they missed the foul call. Don't believe I've ever seen a makeup call come that quick.

The quality of play was worse than the officiating. And you can't blame the poor quality solely on the poor officiating. Officials for making so many foul calls because so many defenders were hacking players with the ball. And I'm not sure there was any paint left on either of the rims after that shooting display by both teams.

It was poorly played, choppy is the best way I can think to describe it.

 

But a team like Carolina thrives on the up tempo game, flow and rhythm, and the officiating did take that away. There was a lot of reaching, but that's what needs to be looked at. The calling of all the ticky-tack stuff that really has no impact. These are big, strong young men, they can play through a little slap on the arm. 27 fouls I think I heard in the second half?

Watching that game was painful. I struggled to understand why UNC kept jacking up 3's when seemingly 1/2 of them never had any chance. They looked like rec ball hero shots. And then Karnowski....how many looks do you need inside of 6 feet to make just 1? The guy got great deep positioning but was no threat. Collins was the only one who seemed to do much but the refs took him out.

I saw it. Cant believe he sent his son there to begin with if thats the case. Maybe the other two should go somewhere else.

Maybe if he would have stopped Fox a few times they would have won. Fox tore him up. The kid is so good and fun to watch but his dad is legit ruining it for him.
