New Dan Whittaker video.

A first for Dan I think in that he has produced a pay video entitled the fundamentals of the modern rotational swing. Doesn't say how long but at £39 ($51) it might be worth a look. I've had lessons from Dan and like his style. Anyone tempted?

Excellent. If I have one criticism, it's that sometimes he's not the quickest at turning them around, but I think he will admit that himself and is trying his best to address that.

I've bought it and I have to say it is really great. It is a step by step guide to the rotational golf swing. Similar to what Geoff Jones aka Slicefixer teaches, just more refined and put together into one coherent piece. Considering what you have to pay for lessons and the value you get out of this video, the price is a steal.

For those who keep up with his YouTube channel, is this just a compilation of the info he already has on there, or are there extras that I'd find some value in? I just watch a few vids from his channel for the first time after seeing this thread and while the information is great and I'm learning a ton, I feel like he's pretty much explained everything to me already through this free content. Let me know as I'm really interested in investing.

I enjoy his vides on youtube, especially those with Peter Finch. Dan really explains the correct sequencing of the swing and rotation required through the ball, in essence a modern Hogan swing, very well. I've found his on line lessons very informative. Not sure I would purchase the on line program though as he has already shown much of it with his youtube videos, at least to meet my needs.

this is GREAT !!! I've been a slicefixer student for 3 years, and never understood the separation of the left arm in the downswing, as I always tried to stay very connected (glove under armpit) and hip pillow recently. Monte explained to me the need to get the right elbow in front (and not just down) of body in the down swing, and this is Part 2. I HIGHLY recommend Dan's youtube- Mike episode #7, downswing for more. While every student is different, this lesson nailed what needs to be done to get the club in front of body on the downswing.

Had a watch through most of it this evening. Predictably it doesn't really cover much ground that isn't already available in his YouTube content but it's presented in a good, concise format.

 

Multiple short files (generally about 2.5 to 5 minutes) covering the main facets of the swing (grip, setup, takeaway, transition etc). Handy to reference back quickly if you're struggling with a particular element of the swing.

 

There's a few little nuggets which I'd not seen (or maybe forgotten) before and I can definitely see myself going through it multiple times.

 

In terms of value it's not as in depth as D4D for example, most of the time is spent telling you what you should be doing, whereas Monte spends more time going over some of the common mistakes (which can help identify which parts of the video are more relevant to your swing) - there is some of that in there but not as much. I'd like to see a bit more in the way of drills too.

 

I'm a big fan of Dan's approach to the swing and instruction anyway so I'm happy with it ?

Dan's video is perfect for the new golfer who needs a comprehensive overview of the whole swing in a 70 minute time frame. Dan's prolific Youtube content is detailed and fantastic, but might be too much for a new golfer who typically is overwhelmed and does not know where to start. The finer details though are in his many in depth YouTube videos. I'm so appreciative that he shares so much top notch and high quality content on YouTube. Unparalleled.

^ Two very good summaries above of what to expect from this video. It's excellent as a step-by-step guide on what to do. As stated, his YT videos, especially the older ones, are much more detailed. That is good or bad depending on your perspective.

 

For anyone starting out or looking to rebuild their swing, this video could be a fantastic resource.

Wow! I bought this video today and watched most of it at lunch. I started with the four chapters "Deliver the Club", "Impact", "Post Impact", and "The Finish". It immediately made sense to me and I couldn't wait to finish work for the day and get to the driving range to try it out.

 

I made a few short swings to get the feel of it, then hit a few wedges; solid contact, straight, and consistently longer than I've been hitting. I then hit two balls each with the 9 iron, 6 iron, 4 hybrid, fairway wood, and driver, and the results were so good I decided to go play 9 holes instead of my plan to spend some time at the range grooving this swing.

 

I played better than I've played all summer. The few bad shots I had were with my driver when I didn't commit to turning through the ball. I also gave up a few strokes when I airmailed the green on 17, and hit a tree branch on 18 when I launched my 48* wedge much higher than I normally do.

 

I'm very optimistic with this. It almost feels like I'm "anchoring" my right elbow just in front of my hip through impact, which is helping deliver a consistent, powerful strike. I guess this could be a "Works Only One Day" thing, but somehow it just doesn't feel like it.

Been off and on watching Dan's video's for years. His youtube channel is a goldmine of information. Last night decided to give him some pounds for the video series. I should have just sent him money a long time ago because of how much I've gotten out of his free stuff. The series is absolutely worth the cash if anyone is still interested. He just has a way of explaining things that make sense to me
