Painful to watch. Not sure how one could ever be successful in an environment like that. I guess he thinks he'll caddie for her on the LPGA if she ever made it.

Believe it or not, they weren't the worst parent/child combo.

They are ok. I haven't seen them on the LPGA event but different people have different dynamics.

Remember Kutcher first US open? His dad was unbearable. How about Michael Wie debacle?

Watched her get eliminated last night. She was a few up and then, literally in one bad hole, her entire demeanor changed. I think it is best to remember that at 12 years old...especially in this day and age...everything is about "right now" and she definitely had some temper issues.

As far as her dad...he needs to start backing off...what is she going to do when she is playing competitive in high school, college? First time she has to play a tournament without him she won't have a clue. She needs to learn how to play without dad hanging around her, and daddy needs to let her grow up a little on her own.

agree 100%...saw it for the 1st time yesterday - the 2nd shot approach on a par 5 - couldn't believe when I saw him out front at a 45 deg angle "talking" her thru the shot...just wow, where do these people come from :dntknw:

I don't disagree with what Inskter said last night on the telecast. Paraphrasing "She needs to spend less time playing golf and more time being a kid. Instead of going to putting practice she needs to go shopping." This is also the same reason there is only one Amercian in the top 10 on the LPGA. The Asian Girl's golf all day and go to school for a few hours on the computer every night. This is not the lifestyle I would choose for my child, but the fact of the matter is this is why the LPGA is dominated by the Koreans and the lifestyle they adopt at an early age.

The reason I am quoting you is because the last paragraph is simply not true. Rick very rarely caddies for Alexa because parents aren't allowed to caddie on the junior circuits. Parents can caddie for US Kids and that is about it. Alexa has been playing SFPGA, FJT, AJGA events since she was 9-10 years old competing against 13-18 years old. None of these events allow caddies. I have walked courses numerous times with Rick standing the allowed 50 yards away and having no contact with the players. Alexa has won 7 times the past year, including an AJGA, and dad wasn't on the bag once. She played in the USGA girl's am and made the cut without dad because parents are not allowed to caddie in that event.

Was he caddying for her?

Years ago I used to caddy for a Jr member at my club in the qualifiers because family members were not allowed. If they changed that it needs to be changed to be changed back.

USGA Jr. Am parents can't caddie.

USGA Men's/Women's Am anyone can caddie.

Impressive stuff. Stephenson is putting on one of the best ball striking displays I've ever seen. If she could just get a putt to drop this would have been over long ago.

Love watching SDCC. One of my favorite courses in the county.
