Mizuno MP T Series Wedges

What does everybody think?
I need a gap wedge, I don't currently have one in my bag today, but will probably get one today or by Friday. I'm definitely leaning towards the MP T series, cause it would go great with the Mp60s. How do the users out there compare them to the Clevelands and the vokeys? Tell me please, i'm relying on you. :pimp:

They are definitely sweet wedges. They now have 3 finishes to choose from, all forged and milled grooves. More spin than the older MP series. Maybe not quite as much spin as the CG10s or SMs, but can hold their own against the 588/900 and 200 series wedges. Best feel though.

Agree with the last post. Play with the Black Nickel finish - have a 53, 58 and 60 but usually go with the 53 / 58 combi. They are soft, keep there looks and don't ding up too much. Get about the same distances 53/100 - 110, 58/80 - 90 but they are playable, spin well and you can be inventive as they lay open up well for high floaters. The 53 is also a good chip and run option.

On well struck shots they feel a bit softer than Vokey 200 series wedges. All in all a great wedge and they fit in well with any Mizuno iron set - 33s 37s 30s 60s et al.

... a wedge is a wedge is a wedge. most of the difference is just visual, and of course feel. i don't like crisp, so vokeys didn't do it for me. nor did the rac's, both having a pretty hard feel. my favorite was the nike 60 chrome, but they just wear out soo fast, and i prefer a slightly wider sole. i played the mp-t black nickels with the x -tours all season. and i was very impressed. the 60-05 and 53 were just about perfect at address with a sole it looks like i designed. i prefer a straight leading edge, and the mp-t’s are slightly rounded. the feel is vintage mizuno as others have said.

.. i recently switched to mp60's and updated the wedges with the mp-t chrome 60-8 and 53, and the 8*of bounce has improved my sand play... they wear quite well and considering all factors, i just don't see another wedge any better out there...

Now here's a statement that I wholeheartedly agree with - they're basically all the same. I mean the Cleveland 588 was introduced in May of '88 and how much different are wedges today? Not much. The 588 is still sold 17 years later. Anyway, I play the T-series for my gap and sand wedges because they look great from address and have a nice feel. I also removed most of the paint-fill except for "Mizuno" and the "M". Try it, you'll like it.

I have 3 sets of wedges:

1. Mizzie MP T Black Nickel 51/56/60

2. Titleist Vokey Chrome tour satin 52/56 and Vokey Spin Milled satin 60

3. Cleveland 588 Tour satin chrome 53/56/60

I pretty much love them all for different reasons. The Mizzie's MP T Black Nickel are the only forged wedge I play, and they do feel a bit spfter on full shots. They wear nicely, not too quickly, and they look super cool and basically compete up against Y-cutters, Spin Milled and all the other contenders you can put up against the Mp-T's.

You can't go wrong with the Mizzie Mp-T's - they're top notch wedges :pimp: :D

I have the 53 and 60 degree Raw Haze wedges.

The 53 wasn't going as far as I wanted and when I had the loft checked it turned out to be 49 degrees anyway - so I had it bent a further two degrees upright and now it's perfect for me.

Spin is very good, sometimes too much but I find making a more 'armsy' swing will cool that off. Excellent feel and they look superb.

I'm not letting mine get too rusty by wiping after use and rubbing down with a little machine oil.

Altogether, very very nice clubs.
