lets get some numbers from everyone

I've seen a bunch of people asking about driver distance over the last couple months. some guys seem to not believe that anyone other than bubba or tiger can hit it over 300 yards. . .but we have some great players here, and some young guys who can boom it out there. so I'm going to do some math. I need 3 numbers from everyone; age, longest drive (measured or estimated), and what you believe to be your average drive. please don't do the "average 250-265", just give one number for each category.

no one is allowed to question anyone or incinuate that anyone is lying. . .you don't have to explain yourself, just be honest and write 3 numbers. I would love to say I average 290 (actually I do, on a good day :tongue:), but for the sake of honesty. . .

I hope everyone participates, I'm very interested in getting some averages, and seeing how those averages relate to age.

Long - 353 (about 150' downhill, downwind :tongue: )

Newbie are you stretching it too? How does a 14 handicappers golf swing average 290 on a good day? A few 280, couple 300s, couple 320s...maybe a 330?

Ha. As well... Only reason I remember mine is b/c I did it twice in the same day. Gotta love the Texas wind in the spring. Could also remember it because I felt horrible about hitting into the guys on the green.

age 47, hole in one on a par 4 357 yards. slightly down hill. but i was 38 then. about 275 to 280. in the winter less than 250 it will plug in the fairway.

Just started playing last year. Before golf instruction I couldn't break 115 but I could crush the driver and keep it pretty straight most of the time. Now I tee off with a 20* hybrid because it's the longest club I can keep in the fairway BUT I can now shoot in the low 90's and hopefully very soon I'll crack into the 80's.

Longest 2 drives 15 mph tail wind both over 400 (60 yards out on a 500 yard par five. and the other one was across the road over the green on a 384 yard par four. Road ran across behind the green. (Both with another player in the foursomes driver.) (macgregor mactec the old one)

oh, thats cold. I'm very inconsistent with my full swing (after all, I am the newbie), especially with the big stick. I have days where I'm "on", and the ball just goes. lately those days have been few and far between. and anyways, my handicap is down to 12.5. :tongue:

 

so, I'm almost overwhelmed by the responses. thanks to everyone for bearing their souls, I know its hard!
