It isn't even the first version of the Precisions. The first model, with the long hosel, had crescents on the top of the hosel, not 3 rings. And the ferrules had red/white/blue on the top, not red rings.

 

I think it is just very rare and people love the Hogan 1 iron mystique. I may have seen one before on ebay, but it has been a long time.

 

I have quite a few butter knives, but not the Precision... and not going to pay $700 for one either...

Thanks! I've got a few more lying around. These were close by. The one that gets used the most is my 1999 Apex 1-iron. It is by far the easiest one to hit out of all of them. I'm taking it to Bandon next week!

Even more crazy is about 2 months ago a 56 precision with hash marks, short hosel sold for $20 BIN, if the seller is watching that bidding they must be reaaaaal sad

Two of the current bidders were also bidding on the Saber 1 iron auction: 9***s (459) and y***t (1673). Since it isn't my money, I would bid more for this Precision 1 iron than the Saber 1 iron. Will be interesting to see what the final price is...

Hard to tell exactly but the sole marks make me think that they might be the same club.

I just looked at my '57 BH (2-9) Precisions and realized they have the same serial number (A314N) on the ferrule as this 1 iron.

 

It must be fate. I must win this bid! I'm going to raise it to $1,000 and see who out there has real "Corleones" in their pants!!!
