Going to be in Vegas for my 10 year anniversary and was told I'd be able to get out for a round or possibly two.

 

I narrowed down to the following courses:

 

Wolf Creek

Reflection Bay

Cascata

TPC LV

 

Anyone care to join me on one of those mornings? I know it's going to be insanely hot but it's the cheapest time for us to go that doesn't interfere with school for the kids too much.

 

Also we are staying at the Venetian so any travel advice to one of those courses would be helpful. I've looked into rental cars but they are very pricy and not worth what we would pay since I'd only need it for golf.

Looks like about an hour each way. I am debating getting a rental car cheap somewhere if I can find one. I am leaning towards Cascata at the moment. Should be a cheaper uber if I can't find a car.

I don't think I'm going to get to Wolf Creek. As much as I'd love to as it's my dream course the travel logistics just do not look promising.

I’d call and ask on Cascata. I would think odds are good as it gets relatively light rounds.

I planned on asking when I called about a tee time. They only take them 120 days out so a couple more months to go.

Thought I would use this thread since it is similar to my request for help.

Anyway, I'm headed to Vegas in July and I'm looking for some good golf deals. I'm coming from the Phoenix area and here, rates go down as temps go up. Does Vegas have the same kind of thing? We typically can play top rated courses for $50 or $60 in the middle of the summer since it is so hot out but maybe Vegas isn't like that?

 

Anyway, I looked at some of the courses listed above and in other various posts and they all seem to have relatively high rates even in July. Can our Vegas members recommend a few above average courses that will have some good deals? They don't have to be the best courses, just something a little more affordable in summer.

During summer months you can get golf in the middle of the day a lot cheaper and not many people will be out there so rounds play a lot faster.

Not sure how often you go out to Vegas. If it isn't often, then I would suggest trying to get to Wolf Creek. It's a bucket list golf course IMO.

The major issue is transportation that far. Rental cars are so damn expensive.

I’ve rented cars and vans in Vegas many times, it’s one of the cheapest areas for rentals. Plus, their car rental mall system works great.

 

Use autoslash.com. In Vegas, I got a Kia Sorento for 6 days for $88. Now that was an incredible deal and ymmv, but, last October I picked up a Nissan Quest mini van for $24 a day. Compared to my $65 a day Smart car out of JFK...

There are no car rental places at the Las Vegas airport.

 

Instead, there are shuttles literally every two minutes that take you and your bags to the offsite car mall (6-8 minutes) where every rental agency has a shop.

 

There is a multi level garage on-site where you pick up the car.

 

It’s much more efficient than waiting for a brand specific shuttle van then trying to wheel out of a congested airport.

 

Drop off is a breeze too!

 

There are many car rental internet sites, I use autoslash.com.

Although years ago...2006, 2010 & 2011...I have always been able to get cheap car rentals.

If you are a Costco member use them...they partner with some of the major car rental agencies.

 

Look into your car insurance to see if they cover 3rd party liability and collision on rentals.

Ended up booking Wolf Creek at 7:35 on the 21st.
