I just ordered mine on July 1st.

I actually went and got fitted at Marine Corps Base Hawaii for the GEN2 unaware of the discount not applying for them. I had to call the fitter and cancel the order and then order the GEN1 online. Essentially I was able to order the exact same specs and shaft except for the grip. 4-PW and 50 Degree Wedge with KBS C-Taper 110 S shafts. After taxes and shipping to Hawaii it came out right at $1250.

I’m about to move to England in 6 weeks and have outgrown my current Callaway XR irons (KBS Tour 90 V Stiff) and Hybrids and am switching over to PXG irons and Titleist Driver, Fairway Wood and Hybrid to try to take the next step in my game. Not sure if I can wait the whole month until the PXGs arrive. It’s only been a few days and it feels like it’s been weeks!

No all the shafts, but a fair amount.....they had all of the shafts that I play, so that worked for me.

Fake News.

This program will eventually end when they run out of inventory that they want to get rid of at a discounted price, Or possibly because some people abuse the program. It won't be because a few golf gearheads posted the prices on a GolfWRX forum.

All I know is 1400 for irons and a couple wedges is still to steep. I bought iblades, all new vokey wedges, and an 818 H2 for less than that...

How is that “still too steep a price,” considering almost all manufactures now have prices just north of $1k for a set of irons. That is a normal price these days if you are buying current year models and want new.

I think you're confusing what PXG is doing with when there were retailers selling Ping golf clubs for less than Ping's required prices, a bunch of people were talking about the prices online, and then Ping pulled the accounts with those retailers. They've long been known to pull accounts from retailers that were not following their rules. PXG is selling the irons through their own website at a price they chose. I can't imagine they'd suddenly get upset that people were discussing the prices online, especially since the CEO made his living off of the internet.

So true -- P790's are, what $1300 for an 8 iron set?

In comparison, less. Don't forget to subtract 15% for TM's military discount.

It really depends on the shafts you're looking at. I just went through and compared 790's with steelfibers and 0311's with steelfibers in 4-G. I added the military discount through TM and the totals include tax and shipping fees for each. Prices are as follows:

TM 790's: $1,531.69

PXG 0311's: $1,240.20

Not with respect to my post it doesn't :-)

I was only correcting the posted price - but the 15% still applies to all aspects of the purchase, including any up-charges for shafts or grips.

I understand that, but if you're comparing between no up charged shafts it's almost a wash. It comes out to $1,171.29 for the 790's vs $1,240.20 for the 0311's, both with stock DG 105's.

Also, the 790 price with steelfibers I quoted included the 15% discount. My point is some people are saying even with the discount they're still too expensive compared to other manufactures offerings. That truly isn't the case if you break it down by the numbers. And, if you want shafts that are normally up charged from other manufactures you're actually saving a few hundred dollars going PXG.

And my point is that I wasn't comparing the two, either explicitly or in any implied way. I was only commenting on TM's prices and the price HercNav quoted.

What you choose to do with that information or how you plane to use it is irrelevant to anything in my post, that's completely up to you.

I usually don't quibble over semantics, but you did say "In comparison, less" when referencing his comment about the price of 790's compared to the 0311's. Although, you did correctly point out the neglected 15% discount that TM offers. Either way, I digress. Back to thread topic.......this is a great program for those who like the performance, feel, and looks of the 0311's who otherwise could not afford or justify paying the original asking price.

No worries - I don't mind quibbles over semantics. :-)

That only means that if the price is used for a comparison, you have to also apply the TM military discount and therefore the TM price would be less. It doesn't imply I was the one doing any comparison.

Although anyone else notice problems with the online configuration and pricing?

I went through it (not related to this but an earlier post) and got one price for the steelfibers. Then changed the configuration to the KBS TGI's and the price jumped - but then I went back to the steelfibers but the price didn't return to the original one I saw with the steelfibers. It stayed at the KBS price? It doesn't seem to adjust to configuration changes very well.

I just went through those changes and did not get a price change between the two. If you're considering ordering I'd call in to them. You can also make other changes like soft/hard stepping shafts that isn't offered on the website.
