So I pulled the trigger on this but then cancelled it. I just bought 718 AP2 irons and the thought of flipping between the two was not attractive. I don't care if it's old inventory I like the idea and you don't see many other club manufactures doing this at all. I am sure someone will dig up a discount that they received blah blah blah but 50% is a good gesture. The shaft options were limited but there was enough variety that I think it will work for most anyone.

Also, they're offering the gen 2 SGI for a discount as well. Not the same price of course but not bad if someone wanted to add the 3 or 4 iron to their set. They also added PX LZ graphite irons.

When building these online, they offer same shafts with 2ir or 3ir.... for example, I'm looking at the modus3 105x 2ir.....what does the 2ir or 3ir mean?

If you send money to veterans that's awesome and I thank you. Some of the OEM's are giving discounts to veterans and first responders for their service which is a great gesture for those of us looking at their products. And, I believe some of them also give/donate to veteran charities as well. I know Bob gets a lot of crap because he can be arrogant and vulgar, but he's done more for humanity (disaster relief, veteran charities, etc.) then probably all the forum members combined.

I for one truly appreciate this PXG deal and am taking it as an opportunity to revamp my bag with quality clubs and normally upcharged shafts for prices that I couldn't believe were offered.

Oh everyone knows that as they've used it as an advertising campaign. Sort of similar to offering discounts on items you want to get out of inventory to veterans.

 

It's not a tribute, it's an ad campaign. They should have added SoecOps and tactical.

I couldn’t hold out any longer, ordered 0311p, 4-gw. Kbs ctaper lite 130x.......got a 19 degree hybrid with Hzrdus black... can’t wait!

Got the email stating the GEN2 irons were available; I just called PXG CS and gentlemen stated it was only the SGI iron and there was absolutely no plan to add the GEN2 irons to the HERO program at this time. He also stated the program has been a huge success to date.
