I'll be that guy...

 

Since everything is military-inspired and he draws so heavily from that marketing ploy, why wasn't this program in place from the get-go, and why is it only available on certain products?

 

The "Nothing Is Good Enough" guy? He/the company didn't have to do anything helpful, ever, but did. So why question/minimize it?

 

Because I can, and this is a fun golf forum where people can discuss things. Is Bob above being questioned? Lol.

 

I didn't say he needed to do more, I just questioned why he didn't do this before. Big difference.

 

As far as "nothing is good enough," you might be surprised there are quite a few things that are plenty good enough for me. I've been in business long enough to know that no one is owed anything. I don't expect a discount, trust me.

 

I, along with others, are just pointing out it's probably a thinly-veiled way to dump inventory without making it look like a discount is needed. Instead, Bob is doing it "for the troops." It's not asking for more discount - I probably will never be in PXG's demographic - it's just analyzing the motives/economics of the discount.

 

Is there a more appropriate place to discuss this?

 

I mean - all I wanted to know was how everyone liked their set - so if we could stick to that, I'd appreciate it.

 

It’s sad the OP can’t ask a question about PXG clubs and the program without the cry babies crying about PXG in some way or another. It also is sad that they talk about Parsons himself like they have a personal relationship with the guy. I can bet that his service to this country and all the charities that he has raised MILLIONS of dollars for is more than most of the haters have and will ever do in their lifetime. Some people will find fault or something to cry about in every situation. If you have no business but to bash the company, then why click in a PXG thread. Please move on cause your negativity is a disease!

I was fit for P790 a few months ago but never pulled the trigger. I personally never considered PXG prior to the promotion due to their price, but now they are roughly the same price as a new set of the P790. So I will gladly say thank you to PXG for the discount for military and first responders, and wait on my purchased set. I am not sure why so many people hate on PXG but I think it's nice of them to do so, old inventory or not. It's a nice gesture. I applaud all of the companies that offer something to this group; TM, Ping, Cobra, etc. Thank you for your service all of you heroes, and enjoy your new set of PXG.

Yeah i mean i don't get how this is a bad thing. I respect military guys and first respondents. My brother did multiple tours in Afghanistan and I have no issue with him getting discounts that i don't get.

 

I wonder how many of PXG's clients right now are military or first responder though. I would guess a very small percentage. His business profile screams "CEO" a bit more "First responder"

You might be right about/justified in everything you wrote here. In your first post, though, you equated actual commitment to and interest in helping the military to the timing Parsons/PXG rolled out the program and the items covered in it. I think that's unfair, given that the guy was a Marine (and I wasn't), and that he's running a business.

 

I'd simply prefer to see a separate "Parsons is a jackWord not allowed," or "Parson's business tactics are shifty" thread than see his dedication to the military questioned in a thread about a program that assists military personnel that was posted by a Marine.

PXGs are certainly longer than CF16s how do I know when I played last round played front 9 with CF16s and back 9 with PXG he 0311s are longer and more consistent. Also I've had JPX 900 forged and there's no comparison either 0311 feel better than those GF boron heads.

I'm not exactly sure - Dr. Parsons is a former Marine and as a Marine I think it is really cool naming the clubs after different MOS's (the military occupational specialty - or job code) in the Marine Corps. After hearing what CHIII and Billy Horshel had to say about them on the WRX podcast - I am very interested. And with the discount it is not different than any other manufacturer.

 

He has an honorary doctorate...so does Shaq. Dont see many people calling him Dr. O'Neal...jussayin

I actually went to club champion and got fit earlier this week - I'm pretty sure I'm pulling the trigger today. Just can't decide on whether to go with the chrome or the black.

I vote chrome. I was torn between the two and do not regret getting chrome one bit. I’ve had black irons before and they look sick for awhile but to me they get old looking at.

If you're going to quote me, you could actually get the other half of what I said instead of calling me a "hater," acting like I have a personal relationship with the guy, and then saying my business is to bash the company. I literally did none of those things, and actually complimented Bob's work with the Semper Fi Fund, so not sure why you quoted me. Ilike the look of black but they do not stay that way long. If that doesn't bother you go black. I think it would bother me but it doesn't on the hybrid's so maybe it wouldn't.................as long as all the fading is on the sweet spot!

Was just fit this am and ordered 0311 4-pw irons today. $140 an iron with a great fitting seemed like a deal to me.

 

Looking forward to receiving my irons and thankful PXG offered the military discount :)

Yes. Especially if you are putting in shafts (steel fibers, accra’s, LZ’s, etc) that are normally up charged from most other manufacturers.

I’m a veteran/ first responder, so can u go to an authorized fitter..... get fit properly and then order the clubs for 140$ a piece through this program? Or do you have to order them through the website? I’ve already set myself up on the website with that Id.me site..... getting real interested in getting a set. But would certainly prefer to be fit instead of just ordering via the website.

I have 900f in the bag. With this going on, I ordered myself some new clubs a week ago.

Irons have the LZ shafts and driver I did the HZRDUS Yellow

 

The T's are a hair shorter heal to toe, and the 0311 look like they might be a little more forgiving.

The XF will replace my p790 2iron.

I placed it on 6-5, scanned for shipping on 6-20. They sat at a UPS hub because I was never home to sign on 6-26.
