Tensei Pro Red Reviews

Morry

Recommended Posts

Morry, non pro Tensei blue or Tensei Pro Red would be the Mitsubishi shafts that best suit your swing. The rest are just too low spin.

Really? My ST180 5-wood came originally w/OE version Tensei Blue. I assume this is considered the "non-Pro" It looks very similar to the Tensei Blue I have for my driver but lacks the "boron tip" text located in lower 3rd of shaft. Regardless, I would not consider that shaft comparable to Tensei Pro Red. Maybe similar spin rate, though I doubt that. The launch profile is very different. The Pro Red is noticeably higher launch but retains its trajectory. The OE Blue flights considerably lower at launch but then ramps up considerably suggesting much higher spin rate. More importantly, that shaft was very inconsistent and lacked the control of the Red Pro. The OE shaft was labeled as S by Mizuno and/or MCA. I never had it frequency tested. The Tensei Pro Red I formerly had in same club was built to 265CPM. I would consider the OE Tensei Blue a subpar performing shaft, even by OE standards.

Pro red is meant to launch higher yes. What you don't know is that I've seen all Morry's data behind the scenes and been over profiles with him countless times privately. I'm speaking to him specifically, not making a generalized statement applicable to anyone.

Wondering if Red might be a good profile for me - I am a MRC fan. 100 mph w mid to mid-quick tempo w supposedly a fair amount of shaft kick and moderately late release (Mizuno Optimizer). Play 70 S Pro Blue in 3w (tipped 1”) and 5w (tipped 1.5”) and they are tight and perfect. Tried Pro Blue 60 S (tipped 0.5”) and it was too loose in mid. Fit for Pro White 60 S untipped and ok but soft butt throws me a bit. Have Pro Orange 70 S untipped now and it is the best for me thus far though too low on average - feels tight, butt not as soft feeling as Pro White - just feels smoother. Occassionly get launch right and it bombs and feels spot on. On average I need to work too hard to launch it and get mid to low traj. If I wanted a bit more launch and could handle a little more spin - what do you think - Red 60 S? Orange 60 S? Other?

My first thought is Diamana DF.

Thx Toll. I will check that out. Don’t know that profile. I think you meant Diamana BF. Never heard of a DF.

Hazard a guess to weight/flex and tip? Just your gut reaction is better than I could guess. Ty.

My guess, 70 S untipped. Close?

I could have written this ...... same experience pro blue, pro white and pro orange in driver...same swing speed and tempo - low launch and spin by nature

and I am kicking the tired hard on pro red as well as the Evo 5 just announced from Fuji

Pro Blue is amazing in my 3 wood. Plenty of height, plenty accurate off the deck or tee and good distance.
