Stiffer shafts equal more spin or less?

I hit the 130's much straighter but feel like I'm losing a little distance. ...

And... what is your problem exactly? Does a half-club less (if that) eliminate your ability to attack certain greens? Has your GIR decreased?

What's In The Bag (As of April 2023, post-MAX change + new putter)

Sometimes stiffer and heavier shafts will result in a lower trajectory, and that can affect distance if the trajectory is too low.

What Ness said.

Many people seem to have a distorted idea of what is a good trajectory.

I play as a single a lot and I constantly hear people complain about hitting it too high and it is INCREDIBLY rare that they are actually hitting it too high. Most of the time they aren’t hitting it high enough for maximum distance.

Are you comparing apples to apples? How many rounds with the new shafts do you have under your belt? Conditions outdoors make a huge contribution to flight. In the late fall and into spring, my irons and really all my clubs carry at least 5% less distance than in the middle of summer. Wind also matters massively.

One par 3 at my home course plays about 30 yards or 3 clubs difference on a down wind summer day compared to a breeze in the face during the fall. I've hit anything from a PW to a 7i on that same exact hole, just different times of the year with different playing conditions.

Unless you've taken 30+ hits with both shaft set ups on the same indoor monitor, it's not really safe to say shaft alone could be the contributing factor.

No problem really. I was just trying to understand what could be the reason. I actually hit them higher and straighter

Do you feel like you have to give the 130 x a bit more oomph? Or have you gotten past that acclimation period?

They feel the same. The extra weight and flex were never an issue

That’s a good point. I have about 6 rounds played with them now but it is much colder outside. I appreciate all of the responses

Several possible factors, here are a few but it is likely to be a little of all three.

The extra 10 grams of weight.

Lower ballspeed from slight miss strikes

Lower Clubhead speed in response to the difference in feel of the stronger shaft flex.

boom, this is what I would think.....either weightt or flex giving strike is same

I hear ya! I spent three seasons using a Calla XTour 3W, 15*. I seemed to be hit and miss with it. The problem: My home course practice range is up on a hill, so it looked like I hit my 3W really high. One day at a flat practice range, I realized I hit the ball too low. Solution: I dropped the tour headed FW - designed for the penetrating ball flight which the ads talk about - and have been hitting a 16* 4W (of different models) ever since.
