Good to hear. Honestly even if it’s not great I don’t expect much from a Nike t shirt and it’s more of a cool thing to have as opposed to something I’m trying to get a ton of wear out of

I didn’t get the old one and yep, I agree if it was dri-fit I’d have probably kept it.

It’s not the model, it’s the clothes.... Nike knows they set the standard, but it seems they don’t understand golf culture anymore.

Disagree. They are trying to SHIFT the culture.

Golf is a traditionalists game - so it's either welcomed or its not. Hardly a middle ground for most.

I personally feel it welcomes people to the game. They feel like they dont need to dress "preppy" or feel uncomfortable. I'm not a fan of much of their stuff this season, but I do have friends who have been more apt to attempt playing knowing they can play in more athletic feeling apparel as opposed to wearing cotton shirts and baggy khaki pants (as stereotypes suggest).

cotton shirts and baggy khaki pants haven't been in style in years, your friends aren't trying very hard to find athletic feeling golf apparel apparently.

and those flex pants with the built in belt look baggier than any golf pants i currently own. they look like those crappy drop crotch pants that caught on a few years back.

Sounds like it’s just a guess on their part once they seen the shirt come out, they assume the hat should come out as well.

I hope the guess is correct and they come out. I don’t want the polo or the t-shirt. Patiently waiting on the hat.

Shhhhh!!!! Before someone comes in and calls us Old Farts!

I saw these yesterday and immediately laughed. I'm not on the cutting edge of fashion or anything, but I've read a few articles that pleats, and wider pants are going to be coming back into style. Maybe this is a push for the front line of fashion?

I dunno. The drawstring is pretty funny. I think that Nike heard all our whining about releasing the Wolf Grey Woven and decided to try to make belts totally pointless so we would stop complaining. Integrated belts, drawstrings, what will they come up with next!

Golf culture is changing. The sport as a whole is changing. Golf is becoming more diverse and inclusive and as someone who loves the game and wants to share it with others, I'm very glad to see it. That being said, am I going to wear those pants? Definitely not. But if it'll spark someone else's interest in golf or make someone second guess the stereotypes, I'm all for it.

These still aren’t as bad as the pants I was told Jason Day was supposed to wear at the Masters. They looked like they were slim fit and they were calf length. They are in the SS19 catalog, but I’ve not seen them anywhere. Maybe (hopefully) they got dumped.

These are those pants, if you look at the black it's shown as cropped

I'm all for "bringing golf to the masses" but this is clearly not the way to do it - nobody sees this and thinks "oh good i can wear this instead of preppy uncomfortable clothes". They'll just wear sweatpants or something

You're completely missing the point of my post. But you cant have a conversation with someone who's arguing to be right instead of trying to understand.

Nike is right on trend with style/fashion outside of the golfing world. Cotton shirts and baggy khakis arent and havent been in style for years - you're correct. But not everyone pays attention to golf - especially if you dont play it. On the flip side, majority of people know the stigma/stereotypes surrounding golf. So, if kids (of all ages) can feel "cool and trendy" while paying golf, I believe they are more apt to take up the game because it starts to pick away at a stereotype.

Not necessarily. I think kids are more likely to pick up playing golf if they are able to feel "cool and trendy." Most young kids dont play golf - they are playing basketball, football, soccer, etc - and I know this is for various reasons. Golf isnt as accessible.

But i think Nike is pushing some boundaries when it comes to clothing in the golfing community. Look what they did by making classic sneakers into golf shoes. That was totally brought in with mixed reviews - now everyone cant get enough.

I dont like everything that Nike has put out this season. But just wait. The next generation is going to be sporting a lot of it.

I’ll look back at them but I don’t think they’re the same. Unless Nike slightly modified them. Not trying to argue with you, but the Day pants looked even shorter. Like just below the knee length.
