Honest Reviews of Taylormade GAPR LO?

For me the GAPR LO is a one trick pony, but it does that one trick very well. For me it produced long, straight, low bullets with a lot of roll off the tee. Off the fairway the results were similar for me.

If I could hit fairway woods more consistently, the Gapr lo might make my bag, but I need a little more shot versatility from the fairway with my driving iron.

I added the 2 iron to my bag late this year and love it. A fairway finder that as said above hits mid/low bullets. I use it on almost all Par 4’s u see 400 yards (started struggling with the driver). Add in any par 5’s that running it on is an option.

Great addition but I wanted it for one thing and it works great for that.

currently play the 790 and it is miles better than the GAPR. I hated the clicky feel and look of the gapr. as far as stock shafts go the hzrds black in the 790 is way better than the cheap kbs shaft that comes in the gapr. Performance wise they are about the same. Turf interaction with the 790 is much better than the GAPR. 790 has a smaller top line and is a more compact club.

The only reason this might knock my 790 3i out of the bag is because TM now offers the Pro white 90 for only $50 upcharge and you can only get it in the gapr line or hybrid line and I’m not a hybrid player. I really wish they would’ve offered more custom shaft options for the 790 udi

Driver: TaylorMade SIM MAX (10.5 degrees - set to 9.75 and 1.5 degrees open)

Shaft: Aldila Rogue 130 White 70 TX (at 45" and tipped 1")

3-wood: TaylorMade SIM (15 degrees)

Shaft: Aldila Rogue 130 Black 70 TX (at 43" and tipped 1")

UDI: *** Under Construction ***

Irons: TaylorMade P-7MC 4-PW (1 degree upright)

Shaft: Nippon Pro Modus3 Tour 120 X

Wedges: Cleveland RTX Zipcore Tour Rack (Raw) 52.10, 56.12 & 60.12

Shaft: Nippon Pro Modus3 Wedge 125

Putter: Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Mid-Slant (at 34")

Question- I want to get the stock shaft out of there.

Is the adapter interchangeable with TM hybrids?

Or do I need to find a shaft from another GAPR?

Thanks!

I believe the hybrid hosel is .370 and so is the driving iron so it definitely should be! just make sure the length is correct.

I received my GAPR LO 3i in the mail recently and I played around with it yesterday hitting it off the tee on most holes to try it out. In short, it is an absolute beast. I don't want to make any promises or predictions for my average length with it but on most par 4s where I feel driver will be a little risky because the fairway tightens or I have to hug the right or left side of the fairway I was able to hit it where I wanted and have a very comfortable club in. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a low-mid ball flight off the tee and being able to roll it up on the green on par 5s. However, I also think that you a need a certain amount of ball speed to really gain from it, as it does fly low. That said I also do have a low ball flight. To sum up, it will stay in my bag for a long time, that is for sure.

Awesome thanks.

I’m going to give it a try.

Much appreciated.

+1, these were my exact thoughts after trying both for just over a month. The 790 just feels/sounds so much better! It just looks great down at the ball

Hit the GAPR for the first time today, and wasn't a huge fan. Currently carry the P790 2-iron and for me it's better than GAPR in every way - feel, distance, workability, control, etc. Not to say GAPR is terrible, but to me P790 dominates it all-around. Feeling off of GAPR was somewhat clicky and hollow to me. Ball flight was low, but I also found it more difficult to control than my P790 (though that was likely due to different shafts - i use HZRDUS Black 85g 6.5 in mine while the GAPR had a KBS 130X and felt looser). GAPR may work for some, but doesn't even come close to threatening my P790.
