What is your favorite JDM putter?

Bought an older model Miura KM 005 Putter.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I was ogling at that for a while before settling on the KM-008. What is it like on the greens?

Didn't play much of JDM putters, but 2 out of 6 I have are. Muziik MP-1 with Dogatti shaft. Can't imagine a better feeling putter. Heel to toe is also shorter than my putters and it just has this nice compact, thick look to it.

Played for the first time with it yesterday. It helped that I made a 15 footer to save par on the 1st hole and made a couple of other long putts. Excellent putter, great feel. no big adjustment for me since I am used to Anser style putters. Good distance control, getting used to the thicker top line. Funny, I am also looking hard at that KM 008 putter.

I have a KM-008 which I love - but certainly don't putt well with. :(

 

It feels fantastic, and is extremely pleasing to look at, but is tough as hell to score well with, both from distance control and directional perspectives.

 

I'm not the greatest putter by any means, but it's rare that I put 4 putts up on the board. When I do, it's typically with the KM-008.

 

But I still love it.

jdm are  MG-  prefix.

Anyone looking to let go of a Miura putter? Looking for something heavier and with a heavier swing weight! Will pay for shipping out here to Singapore. Thinking KM 006 would be my best bet in terms of weight?

During the 10 years I worked for Miura Golf (Club maker/fitter) I used pretty much all their various putters at some time. When the KM 007 came out I got the original prototype one for my self ...the head is approx. 10 grams heavier that the later production models. I use a Nippon Pro 120 gram multi colour putter shaft with it and a Super Stroke 2.0 grip.

Right from the very start I putted great with it and still do....I have had it for just over 10 years and feel like I can make any putt I look at....obviously you never make them all but I certainly make my share. This putter will never be leaving my bag...specially since Miura has dropped all the putters from their line of clubs. No way to replace it if I let it go.

Ok…I don’t disagree with you. In fact, I believe you, because I know that you know JDM golf equipment as much as anyone. However, there is not a wealth of information on Yamada putters, I have seen the 85029 and Mushashi lumped together in various posts and their burning copper versions look very similar, if not identical, in what few photos there are of both.

 

I guess what I am trying to say is that your post would have been a perfect time for an elaboration, rather than just stating what you know is fact.

yep , sure..  From whati remember  the musashi is a slightly longer , flatter  top blade  with a slightly  more squared of  toe and heel , not much but  u can notice it the pics here  i found , (musahi  in copper at the top)    it  has  a   more angular   appearance not much but......

the ibushi ( 85029 custom)   has  a  more comapct  rounder look with a slight rounded sole its a more gentle look   and an insert  ,  has a delicate look to it and a little bit more easy on the eye, both are exceptinal  putters and  it all about which look u prefer, the  custom  ibushi are hens teeth  now  , both wothy of any bag spot.

funny thing is , i  actually prefer the musahsi look these days ,  i played the back out of my ibushi for years  , then   had it re customed   a cpl of yrs back  and have lost the ability to hears its voice  so ive no not played it
