The Maruman KS line looks sweet. I've always had a sweet spot for center shafted putters and those look great.

Looking at the Miura KM 009 or 006 putters. Are they any good? Comparable to the older Scotty carbon steel models maybe in terms of feel?

I use the KM-009 Miura......nicely balanced putter but expensive.

Both are fantastic heads.

 

The KM-009 is ~20g lighter than the KM-006. The KM-009 has a full shaft offset, the KM-006 has a half shaft offset. The KM-009 has a little less toe hang than the KM-006.

 

I like to play them with a Nippon heavy putter shaft (N.S. Pro XXIP-A2, 136g @35,5" uncut/raw).

Yamada for sure. He is working on a new putter with a plumbers neck that is very similar to the Musashi (85029). He hasn't done one of those in quite a few years. It will be months, but I've got one on order.

Some of the older Gauge Design was JDM before David Whitlam got in a business dispute with George Takei (NOT Sulu from Star Trek) over licensing rights.

Great list thank you. Never seen a Yamada in person but they seem to justifiably be very popular. The JDM milled putters just seem so much cleaner than USDM customs with all the unnecessary and silly stamping.

 

I remember when Vijay won one of his majors with a Hiro Matsumoto. First time I’d ever heard of him, couldn’t find those putters anywhere in the US.

ive had quite a few golds refurbs, they come up simply stunning,

rebalanced and or re centered, if need be.

re milled, it was fun to have them done.

I game them a lot but t doesnt stop me getting others,

 

ive basically moved along all my non JDM putters, for no other reason than I like 1 offs.

That Miura KM-007 is nice...

 

Always loved the look of the dinky little KM-350 - now there's a KM-008 without the cavity and still lovely looking.

 

I don't have them though... sticking with the ugly Seemore Giant :swoon:

Have only tried a friend's Miura putter a while back. Can't recall which model but think I found it too soft due to the deep face mill.

 

What I do feel is Miura giken when I could custom order direct from the factory (think 15 years back or more) seems very very different to what Miura is today.

From a personal experience I do not think they are overrated, if anything the one I have (KM-008) is underrated.

Two insanely different price ranges. for $2500+, I would expect my circle t putter to nearly roll it in the hole while i stand there. A Yamada is $600-700 new. Feels great to me and well worth the money. I've tried a few of them.
