With an overwhelming number of posts on another thread about how many people have moved away from the standard 3 through PW, I am curious as to how many are still playing a 2 through PW set. Driving irons count, as they "helpful" long irons. I use a TMB 2 iron w/Pro White and my 3 thru PW are 718CB's w/Project X LZ. Anybody else still carry to the deuce?

Um, no

I've always carried a 2-iron, and still carry the P790 UDI. That is THE money club when I must find the fairway, and can carry it about 235, with rollout to 250 or so. Great club off the tee, and easy to hit off the deck, though not as great for long shots into greens where I need to carry it onto the green and have it hold (it's a low launch/low spin club for me). Then carry 4-PW plus 50/54/58 in the wedges. The 2I is bent 1* weak (to 18*) and the 4I is bent 2* strong (to 22*) for better gapping, through I've toyed with putting a 3I back in and changing up my wedge mix a bit. I constantly think about making this change, in fact.

I don't use the 50* a whole lot (really only use it for full shots of about 125 yards, or the occasional knock-down into the wind), while I use the 54* and 58* quite a bit more. Especially for 1/2 and 3/4 swings in the 50-75 yard range, as well as the low spinners and chips around the greens, the 54* is probably the most versatile club in my bag. The 58* is mostly for bunkers and open-faced shots around the greens. I've toyed with dropping the 50* and the 54* and just going 52/58, but I feel like the 52 wouldn't be quite as versatile as the 54* is for me.

Decisions, decisions....

T-Zoid Pro II 2-pw in 2003. 2 iron left the bag a few years ago due to lost SS and limited practice to be replaced by a 5 wood. It was my fairway finder but found that I needed to 5 wood on long par 4s and par 5s more than for off the tee at the courses I was playing. Occasionally find myself wishing for that tight little draw that ran out 220-230 on firm fairways,

3 iron has been gone for last 2 years for another wedge. Just picked up a set of Ping I E1s on the Bay-4-U. Hopefully will be set on a bag for 2019 by April 1...Grain Flowed 1025 is hard to give up but a man has to know his limitations. I had a good run with my Mizzys and not sure if its over, but I think I am willing to give up some feel 7-w for consistency through the rest of the bag.

I am, after much experimenting with a 5 wood. With the right graphite shaft in the 2 iron utility, it goes as far as any 3 wood.

3 iron is a piece of cake, so no need for UDI, hybrids or 7 woods.
