Pre-Yes! C Groove Putter?

I found this in my office and had nearly forgotten about it (actually don't recall where I obtained it from). Does anyone know about this? There's lead tape on the bottom I can remove if nobody recognizes her based on these pics....

Update # 1 - curiosity got the better of me - I pulled the lead tape off and it only says "Patent 5637044 High Precision and INSERT" but no company name. Some quick Googling shows this could be Harold Swash's original patent which was later assigned (ultimately) to ProGear?

Interestingly TaylorMade/Adidas also claims ownership to the patent here.

Update # 2 - yes, it does appear to be the prototype for the original patent which is here. Does anyone know if TaylorMade bought YES!?

Looks like an old Pro Gear putter, company that was reorganized under Yes! name. Would be interested to see if that is correct upon removal of lead tape.

Adams golf purchased Yes putters and then were acquired by Taylormade which means they own the patents now.

So that was actually patented under the Pro Gear name?

Have a great week Bro?

When it comes to putter design there’s Karsten Solheim and Harold Swash. Then a good ways down the line there’s a few other guys.

All, just by way of update, I wrote the Harold Swash Putting school in the U.K. and sent a pic of the putter. Phillip Kenyon, the program's director, responded that Mr. Swash had passed away two years ago and that this was one of his putters from the original Yes! golf structure.

Didn't Retief Goosen win the 2004 US Open at Shinnecock using a (pre Yes) Progear? That putter became the Yes Tracy model.

Hi I found this thread. I was wondering if you used this putter and what your thoughts were?

Harold Swash's son, Duncan, still lives in the area of Southport, Lancashire, England.  He's a member of Hillside Golf Club, which sits between Southport & Ainsdale GC and Birkdale.

He plays with my mate Gary.

The one I have, (see photos), has an unstepped shaft, and a Yes grip, although I think this may well have been added later.

The grooves are still in good order but whoever owned it before didn't use a headcover.  The top line and back edge are a bit hammered, obviously having been jostled against the other 13 clubs in the bag for several years!

But for fiver out of a charity shop, it's not bad!

That’s the one!  Mine was its twin.  I added lead tape to the sole but remember the “High Precision” and double dimple pattern.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
