Pushcart Popularity in the U.S.

Recommended Posts

I just purchased one so we'll see how it goes. Mainly want it for quick afternoon rounds when I am by myself. Not sure if I have the cojones to walk when everyone else in the group is riding yet ha.

I honestly don't know that I'd stick with golf if I had to give up walking and ride in a cart due to disability. I'd probably still play once in a while but the game loses a lot of its appeal for me when riding. It's just too interrupted. I think without the walking, pretty soon the inevitable frustration of the game (which I struggle to deal with anyway) wouldn't be worth fighting any more. I'd probably take up bicycling or swimming for my exercise if I couldn't walk and then find another hobby for relaxation.

I find I can typically keep up with a moderate pace twosome, more riders than that I can keep up easily. Walking has accustomed me to playing a bit quicker actually in the sense that I no longer overanalyze my strokes.

I kind of just feel like I'm deserting the group. Especially if I'm playing in my normal game. Half the fun is riding along and BS'ing with my cart partner. I also like the convo with strangers.

just about half the guys i play with have pushcarts -- if they don't they walk.

as a joke one of the guys in our group with a PC bought some bumper stickers that have #pushcartmafia printed on them and he slapped em on all our carts while we were grabbin a beer at the turn one day. lol

How many times did you bash your head on the roof? I'm good for one or two skull crushers if I haven't ridden in a while.

More often than not, they will all ride anyway. None of them are incapable of walking a course. I typically ride a stationary bike 45 minutes 5 days a week, On days when I walk 18, that takes the place of riding the bike. I'd much rather walk 18 than relax my way around the course only to have to exercise when I get home.

But, the doctors don't want to do that surgery until I'm at least 60. So, I have at least 4 more years to go. Lately, my knees are getting pretty sore by the middle of the back 9. So, I've decided to stop carrying my bag and get a cart. As soon as Dick's has one of their 20% off or $50 off $250 sales, I will be picking up a Clicgear 3.5+. Maybe after doing so, I might convince more of my friends to try walking with me.

> Although my opinion is biased given my signature, you may take a look at TGW pushcarts. They are manufactured by caddytek and come with a few accessories that would be extra charges compared to the clicgear. That being said, idk if Clicgear accessories are compatible with TGW carts, such as the one that holds your bag more upright. However, TGW often does $20 discounts bringing their base cart down to $80, mid-level $119, and their clicgear like model to $139. They also have a 3 wheel swivel model that comes down to $169.

They are really great carts. Before they were rebranded from caddytek to TGW brand I purchased what is now called the "TGW Tour 4-Wheel Push Cart" and love it. Top & bottom straps, insulated cooler bag with drip hole, nice phone holder on the handle, the basket and storage container are good. Overall it's a reallt great cart and only $130 right now - https://www.tgw.com/golf-carts/golf-push-carts/tgw-tour-4-wheel-push-cart

I went with the player's edition, I'm not sure there's many noticeable differences other than how the front wheel sits and the width of them. But yeah, for right around $100-$150 they are remarkable.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
