Hole-in-one

Who has had them?
Let's hear about them. How many? When? Where? What hole? What club id you hit?

One so far. 8th at Nairn Dunabr. 164 yards. Green set into a hillside with 4 bunkers around the front. You can't see the bottom of the cup from the tee. 7 iron. Wee bit of cut on the wind. Was a bit bemused when I couldn't see it but it turned in the hole. Any more stories?

I have had 3 hole in ones total. The first one I ever got was when I was 14 years old on a 179 yard par 3 with a 3-wood. Wow a difference now I would hit a stock 7-Iron.

My claim to fame though was a Double-Eagle on a 625 yard Par 5. It was down wind that day and I pured my drive, had 268 left to the middle of the green. I hit it perfect right where I wanted and it landed on the front of the green then I lost sight of it. I walked up to the green and looked all over for it, even thought it might have rolled over into the thick Bermuda Rough over the green but still couldn't find it. Just when I was about to drop another ball I thought what the heck I'll look in the hole, and low and behold there it was, that was sweet!!! I have had at least 10 hole out's from the fairway for eagle on Par 4's but that by far was the coolest ever!!!

Ive been sooo close but to no avail...im still waiting..... ive holed out from the fairway for eagle a bunch of times and chipped in for eagles........in one school match this past season we were playing an away match and both of the par3's were fairly short...they were both right around 155 so i pulled my 9 iron both times and flew both of them into the cup.....but then they came popping back out.....the cup's lip was destroyed so after we finished the hole we had to fix it....lol still waiting ...tho' ive come sooooooo close!!!!

I've been playing this crazy game for 13 years now. I 'm 27 years old and got my first hole in one this year. It happened on July 4, 2005. I was playing a golf course named Whitefish Lake Golf Club. It was on the north couse. Hole number 15 is a uphill par 3 where you can only see the top of the flagstick when the pin is back. The yardage is 158. I hit a perfect 8 iron didn't leave the stick. So when we got up to the green there was no ball around the hole so first thing I did was look in the hole and there it was. What a feeling.

I had one about this time last year. It was on the second course at Royal County Down. It was on the 5th it is about 128 it has a hill up to the green. The whole green is visible from the tee. i am going to be honest. I didn't hit it well. It took one bounce on a plateau that is just at the top of the hill. It then slammed into the pin. I couldn't believe it. It is the best feeling in the world.

I had one at age 14 on hole 14 at Larchmont Golf Course. I must have weighed 115 lbs. I hit 5 iron at 155 yards  right at the flag. The ball hopped and disappeared. I got mad cause I thought it rolled off the back of the green. Then my father and the other guy we were playing with told me it went in. I ran up to the green and sure enough it was in the hole. I was so excited I accidentally hit 3 wood thinking it was my driver on the next hole.

I have had a few very close calls since, including a on the fly front of the cup blowout that destroyed the entire front of the cup, hit the pin and bounced to a foot away. The guys in my group couldn't believe it didn't stay down. I couldn't even fix the hole (it was another half cup bigger).

Like a lot of you, I have had some close calls and holed out many times from the fairway. The best one was when I was 195 yards out, a little down hill, took out a 4-iron and hit about 4 feet before the cup and went in, that was probably my best eagle. I cannot tell you how good it feels to walk up knowing you dont have to put, it gives you so much momentum going into the next hole. In a school match this year, on our second hole (151 yards) I hit a 9, flew over the stick came back and I was left with a 2 inch tap in, that was the closest I've ever been, but I hope the day comes soon, I'm sure it feels pretty darn good to put a '1' on the scorecard!!!

I see a patern going on there, you gotta get one before the season's out so the legacy can go on :nono: This one is going to be a 7 iron as well

I'm still waiting for mine, but I know the day will come ;)

I guess you are waiting on that next 7 iron to fall. (8,7,8,7)

I came close with my 5 wood this year....about 2" just past the hole.........I really don't know how it missed :drinks:

i came close leaving it about 2 inches out but it could of been really bad because i mixed up my 8 with my 9 but the best part was that my playing partner had just hit it to about 6 inches and it was a closest to the pin hole so it just felt good to have that but it would of been great to write down that 1

I had so many close ones this year, the ball has done everything but go in the friggin cup! The ball flies right at it, but too much spin and it stops a foot short. Another one I hit a perfect draw at the pin, it hits, bounces right over the cup, and stops 5 feet past. Had about 5 misses this year that were pin high left and right, about 10 feet from the hole. It's making me madd, but one day I know ... I'm not gonna jinx it, nevermind.

I have been fortunate enough to have 2.

First one was when I was 12. 180 yds. Hit 7 wood. Rolled from the front of the green and into the cup.

Second one was when I was 14. 165 yds. Hit 5 iron. Bounced once and disappeared.

Nothing feels better than getting and hole in one and watch it go in.

Got my first this summer at my club. 145 yards over water, 7 iron, 1/2 ball mark in the direct middle of the front of the cup. The guys in my foursome thought they heard the ball hit the pin, but I was not convinced until we reached the green. What a feeling to have a guy your playing against look down into the cup and then the look on his face as he has to acknowledge your ace is PRICELESS!!!!
