Customize my new Cobra F9 to a more matte finish?

Hello!

I recently bought the Cobra F9 in the color yellow and in this color the head is alot shinier than the arctic one. Is there anyone who knows if I could customize the top of the head myself with some matte finish? To get it to look like the white one?

I am used to the F8+ look but I guess I could get used to the more shinier look, but it would be a fun project to try :)

Scuff up the gloss finish with fine scotchbrite or steel wool, and spray it with a clear satin or flat acrylic.

Acrylic may be a bit brittle for the purpose. Matte black automotive paint would be a better option. It tends to be more flexible and takes the forces better.

Lightly Wet sand it with some 1500 or 2000 grit sandpaper. It’ll take that shine off of it.

I brushed it lightly with a scotchbrite and bought a matte clearcoat, sprayed it twice. Looks exactly like I want it to, still the same look on the top but with a matte finish!
