I agree with Indian well, really did not like that set up. It was also $30 for an hour

what’s the daily fee at PGA

I believe it was $75.00 a visit 2 years ago, perhaps it's gone up.

I never really felt that any course on PS was a desert course.  Nothing like you can get in Arizona for the most part.

You will find more elevated greens than many other places so you are constantly needed to adjust for that in your yardages.  If you play a low spin ball, you might be chipping a lot. Depending on your game skill, you might want to opt for a long club that gives you more height if you hit those into a lot of holes.

Best advice I can give you, is to play from a tee-box that fits your game.  This is not a place to be a hero and play farther back than you should.

No one walks out there, unless you are a  high school or college golfer.

Thanks for the reply! I play to a 4hcp, not overly long hitter not overly short. only thing is i just switched over from my MB101 to Km700 and still trying to get a feel for the irons.  switched out from PX LS 6.5 to X100 SS 1X and kinda all over the place.  hopefully i can get it all worked out by next weekend.  Currently playing the chrome tour and really liking the feel overall, may switch into the PV1X to the trip which is my other game ball... KM700 setup dropped my spin a little so maybe going with the spinny ball would be a good addition to the back for the trip.

I'm trying to decide between Terra Lago North and Desert Princess for a twilight round. The prices are about the same...does anyone have an opinion on the more enjoyable course?

Edit:

Got my Thursday, Friday, Saturday booked:

Thursday: Indian Wells Players

Friday: Indian Canyons South / Indian Canyons North Replay

Saturday: Firecliff

Both Indian Wells and Firecliff are twilight rounds, about 4 hours before sunset. Hoping to finish both, but even if I get just 15 holes in, I think it will be worth it. This 15 handicapper is getting stoked!

My first observation, is it depends were your staying, I rent at the Desert Princess, it's a 45 min drive on the i10 to Terra Lago N/S.   I like Terra N much more, no homes to hit & you will also get more daylight out there.  The D.P. has 3 different 9's, my favorites are the Lagos 9 & Cielo 9. then there's the Vists's it has 4 holes in the condo complex the remainder are boring & out in the wash.  I watch golfers finishing #9 Celio out my back door about 6:00-6:05 pm when it's dark here. It's normally pretty slow play at that time. Which ever you pick, enjoy & the time changes this Sunday early am, that might give you some extra daylight.

The other courses your playing are great choices. You should be able to finish in 4 hrs 10-20 minutes for your twilight rounds at I.W. & Firecliff.

Did a cut & paste of green fee's at the Desert Princess for Monday March 11th for comparison.

Thanks for the feedback Zipinz. We were looking to play Terra Lago or Desert Princess on that Thursday, but my foursome ended up being more willing to spend money!

So we'll have to wait on TL and DP for the next trip. Palms Springs is overwhelming with how many courses there are to choose from. It's one of those "good problems."

Nice to see an aerobatics team not using planes that were built before I was in elementary school.

It's been crazy windy here for the past few days and not letting up until the weekend, fine sand dust in everything, very few golfing, roads closed again, my asthma is getting tired of it.

That's too bad.  That fine sand dust gets into everything.  It's really weird when you see it fill in roads like a snow drift.

I guess the more protected courses get really busy.

March 18th ... getting ready for my T-T at Escena and something you don't hear or see here to often ... a Thunder-Sun Shower just rolled through headed towards La Quinta .... Boom-Boom-Boom. It sure has been funny weather here this year, things are looking great this week.

Played Escena, got rained on twice, course is in decent shape.  Was enjoying a cold one in the hot tub when Space-X from Vanderberg Space Force Base Ca. did a fly-by tonight at 7:30, right over P.S. sure was impressive.

I noticed it too, you can see it in a couple of the pic's, they suggested it was a spent fuel tank. Wouldn't want it dropping in my back yard.  Included someone's else valley pic, quite spectacular.

Just found this thread.  Thanks for the info - will follow.

We stay at Desert Princess (on Vista #1) for a few weeks each year in March/April/May.  Looking forward to some golf in a few weeks.

It's probably been mentioned previously, but one site we use for discounted golf on occasion is https://www.underpar.com/courses/us/california

The Galleri® Classic, named after GRAIL's multi-cancer early detection test, will take place March 25-31, 2024 at the renowned Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club.

TV said windy and rain for Saturday and perhaps Sunday, that would make conditions challenging for the old guys.

Mike Weir & Steven Ames are the only 2 Cdn's in the field this year, hope they do well.

Drive safe on your way home. We set out for home to Michigan from Napa on Saturday morning and ended up taking a much longer route home than we initially planned, because there was a ton of snow coming down in the mountains along all of the more direct routes (I-80 was closed at one point the night before we were leaving, to give you an idea). We ended up driving all the way back down through L.A. and stayed the first night in Palm Springs. We found a cheap, but fairly nice hotel, and we almost decided to extend our trip by 4 or 5 days, and we really wished that we'd done that, because we still ended up hitting snow while trying to avoid it around Flagstaff, AZ, and we dealt with rain on and off throughout the entire trip (including a tornado that touched down about 10 miles from us the night we stayed in Springfield, MO). It sounded like the weather was going to be a lot better later in the week, so hopefully you have smooth sailing for your trip.
