I saw this shaft but I'm honestly not looking to spend $225 for my 5w, which at best, get's pulled 3x a round if I hit really good drivers off the tee on the par 5's.

So...I did find a Rombax 95x. If the untipped measurement is 21 3/8, then this photo would indicate it's tipped about 1.5''

I think Fuji recommends 1/2'' for the 5w, so I think the extra tipping might be too much...

The older shafts IMO are better since they were designed to kill spin in smaller spinnier heads of old. Pairing them with lower spin heads of today results in a low spin and launch stealth bomber!

In my youth I had played XPP105 (sergio prototype VooDoo,) NV95, XVS9, NV105, HD10, Fujikura HK-Pro110, Diamana 103, Rip Alpha 90X, Fuji Pro95, Fuji 952, and a John Daly Rombax 90X.

They are out there, you just have to search hard enough, or get people like me to go dig through my garage. I know I have an XPP8 and a HD10XX somewhere.

I'm probably going to either buy a Elements Chrome 9F5T, Fuji Pro 95x or Accra FX 380 M5... each can be had new for like $140. Didn't want to spend that much but it seems heavy graphite is pretty rare these days. Kind of leaning toward the Accra because I love my Accra shaft in my driver, and I have another one as a back up.

I'm going with an Accra FX 2.0 380 M5. 90g raw should be pretty close. Going to be keeping my eye out for Rombax... and if this shaft is no good, I'll prob go with the 9F5 Chrome.

Another option would be the Diamana Thump fairway shafts. They offer a 90 gram Xflex. Nice thing about these is they are only 43" raw so you dont have to trim as much so you retain more of the original weight.

There are some NV 105 fairway shafts out there...but yes the NV105 hybrids are everywhere, so it's a bit of a needle in a haystack
