Looking for a bag that works well on riding cart and push cart

Current bag is a Sun Mountain 4.5 stand bag, with 4 way divider. It's really nice to bring to the range and practice areas but it's really not ideal for my push cart or to a lesser extent the riding cart. Another thing I should mention is that I strongly prefer a 4/5/6 way bag and not the 14 way. I like to bring more than 14 clubs with me when I'm out alone or a few alignment sticks, etc.

I've been eyeing a Sun Mountain C130 5-way but from what I'm seeing and reading, it's really not a great choice for pushing which I probably end up doing 50% of the time once the weather gets nicer. I did see Callaway makes a 6 way with a putter well called the Org 7 that seems to be made more for pushing since the putter well is on the back side of the bag.

Other than the Vessel 6 way, this Callaway bag and maybe a C130, what else is out there?

I have a CG 3.5+ push cart that I use 99% of the rounds I play. I have a Ping Pioneer that works great. And it has a cart strap slot so that if I do ride access to the pockets is not impacted.

From what I saw, this is a 14 way bag... I strongly prefer the 4 or 5 way style. Not sure I'm really willing to compromise on that.

Sun Mtn. Sync or Ping Pioneer Would be my first choices.

Unfortunately for my use I prefer a carry handle, and neither has what I consider a handle.

both have 15 club dividers, so you probably would need to look elsewhere.

15 club holder works fine for alignment sticks and or a drizzle stik

Yeah that's a very good point... The 15way let's me carry an extra wedge or my alignment sticks, etc.

Looks like Vessel makes a 14 way that seems flat on top so it can be used on a push cart a bit better. Not sure if stores have them though...

So after a lot of back and forth, I don't think I have much choice but to use a 14 way + putter well bag. With that in mind, I found the Datrek DG Lite II to be a pretty appealing choice, but almost no stores carry them and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of them out there for sale. Reviews seem pretty good but I hate buying things 100% blind unless I know I can easily sell it back for minimal loss.

Anybody ever use a Datrek bag? If not I think I'll either go with the trusty Sun Mountain or Ping.

I just talked with a shop owner who said they are great except the balance is wacky when is full of clubs and is prone to tipping over when full.

I think in just going to get the Sync. Comes in a neutral black, brand agnostic and I know SM makes solid stuff, bc this would be my 3rd one.

Another possible spin on this - I like a stand bag for range time, but walk with a Clic Gear 95% of the time on course. I have the Sun Mountain 130S, and added Clic Gear's stand bag mount to the top of the push cart. Really keeps the bag secure with the legs, so that the bag doesn't rotate around.

Do you find it hard to use pushing due to the fact that bag has a back to front angle to the top? Seems like c130 was made specifically for riding carts.

ziggy16 - not at all. No issues getting clubs out or into bag or with clubs hitting hands while pushing. The C130S is slightly smaller than the cart bag 130 though. Still plenty of room for everything I need.

I use riding cart and a Clicgear 3.0 push cart and been happy with Titleist 5 Stand Bag on both.

When riding which has been a lot lately, Titleist 5 stand bag has a Velcro strap that keeps legs in place making it fit nicely in the bag well area, fits my push cart well too. I have no issues worth sharing regarding clubs getting tangled in the bag. As it is, Titleist 5 has plenty of pockets and room for rain gear.

My stand bag likes to flop around on my push cart a bit even with the legs held in place with a strap. The shape of it just isn't meant to be in there it seems...

I'm about to roll up into pga tour ss with my push cart and start slapping bags on it and clubs in the bag lol. The c130s was always alluring but I figured the shape wasn't ideal for pushing.

Odd. My bag doesn't move at all when on my push cart or golf cart.

From my experience it seems the key to being good for push carts and riding is for the bag to have a flat, rather than angled, bottom. The Titleist bag pictured a few posts above should work well.

Sun Mountain Sync is perfect for both. I use a Clicgear and it fits fine

Typical riding cart bags suck for push carts, the slope/angle of the top goes the wrong way. Look for something with a top that is more neutral or flat/parallel to the ground. Here is what I use (Wellzher TE Cart bag)-
