Looking to purchase my first. Man these are so expensive! Anyone try the bluetees rangefinder. They claim to be comparable to the bushnell but im skeptical

I just got my first, Nikon Coolshot 20, no range adjustment but extremely clear optics, small, and easy to use.  I don't have the steadiest hand but the ability to scan and get readings on multiple items near flag make it sooooooo easy.

bought the golf buddy L10. Works great, is very small, and was hundreds less than my Bushnell tour. The Bushnell was crap, problems after problems, then died. The golf buddy does all that it did for less money. Not sure what else there is other than point and shoot and get the correct distance quickly with easy to turn off/on slope. Only issue is it may be almost too small. Great value in it.

Anyone opine on the Precision Pro rangefinder? Can the slope be turned on/off?

 

I currently use one of the original Bushnells. It uses 9v batteries which are a nightmare to replace. The wires connecting the rangefinder to the battery connector break easily and the next time they break, I'm moving to a new model.

FineCaddie UPL100. I like it because it's USB charging product. You don't need to keep buying and changing batteries.

+1 on the Coolshot Pro Stabilized rangefinder.  Going on two years w/o a hiccup.  I initially went with a cheaper rangefinder and w/ in 6 months I had issues.  Based on this forum, I went with Nikon because of the great reviews as well as all of the bad customer service issues with Bushnell.

i bit on the $100 off coupon Bluetees had going. Super disappointed in performance. Difficult to get the pin lock to read yardage. Long distance is like winning the lottery. I can stand in same spot and shoot the flag over and over and over and each time will give me a different yardage.

These are the latest Darrell Survey numbers on Bushnell lasers used:

PGA Tour       98%

NCAA             93%

Champions    90%

US Amateur   90%

LPGA              96%

 

There must be a reason for numbers like this. Per Bushnell the only person they pay to use their lasers is Ricky Fowler.

 

I've always found the Bushnell's to be accurate, fast to lock on, and reliable.  I sold my oldest Bushnell (V2) to a friend and he still uses it.  I never store my clubs in my car (not the best environment for optics and electronics), and while playing keep it in my pocket where it won't get banged around.  Treat them with care and they should last - Bushnell's and most other quality brands too.

I bought a Bushnell V3 in 2017.  On occasion it would pick up the trees behind the green instead of the flag, but for the most part it did the job.  I would still be using it, but it got drenched a few weeks ago when a cup of water spilled over in the cart.

 

Replaced it with a Nikon Coolshot 50i.  The Nikon has been just as solid as the Bushnell, and the slope feature is an appreciated addition (the V3 did not have this).
