Firstly, there is no standard lie angle. Every manufacturer makes their own "standard".
Common wisdom(?) is that a club can be bent about 2* without fear of breaking. My repair guy says they can usually be bent slightly more than that. If you have such a guy or you trust the repair guy at your local big box store, he should be able to bend the lie angles pretty easily. Takes about 15 seconds or so for each club.
Ping irons are about as tough as they come and I believe, but am not sure, that Ping casts 3 different lie angles (+2, "E", -2) and then bends them up to 2* from there. I'm fairly confident they don't cast them in all the different lie angles available from them. @Nessism could certainly tell us.

Thanks..Yes i meant 3* up from Honma's std for these particular irons (Honma website). I do know Ping doesnt cast their clubs in all different lie angles, at lweast when i saw their operation in AZ. Thanks for your reply. Gotta find a good repair guy in NE Fla area

I think they are one of the under appreciated companies out there. You can see their strategy and club development evolving to get more attention and hit that part of the middle market they have been missing. I hope it pays off for them and for us as golfers.

I am a new golfer and started off with my first set of irons as the hand me down TW737V Irons and love it to death. I really hope they start grabbing more attention and get better.

Thats a pretty good set of irons to start with. glad you like them so well...i may get some V's at some point as well..

They might be appreciated a bit more if they got some more demo equipment in the stores.

PGATSS is about the biggest one around and while they do have Honma driver demos there's not a demo iron in sight.

Early last year I tried every new driver out there. The 2 that just about tied for the win were my Epic Flash Sub Zero a($529) and the Honma 747 ($649). There was virtually no advantage to either one in distance but there was a slight advantage in directional consistency for the EFSZ and, to be perfectly honest, the Cally would be easier to sell if I changed my mind. LOL Mind NOT changed, the EFSZ is the best I've ever had and (still) not going anywhere.

That said, Honma 747 drivers are being absolutely DUMPED on eBay right now and a NEW one can be had for about $125. I was thinking of getting one just for the heck of it. LOL

I got them as a hand me down cause i worked at a golf company. They were always letting me take home clubs an try them out and stuff. Very fun.

Have a couple of rounds with the TW W4 wedges and have thrown some darts with decent spin. Feel is really good. I bought the TW 747 driver because the prices are so low and still getting used to it. The lie angle seems fairly upright but that could just be me.

Yea ive been going back n forth on the 747 driver. I have the 455 9.5 and its has it good says an bad. I just need to tweak my swing a little bit

bingo...you nailed it. The used market for honma equipment on ebay is awesome! I picked up my 737 driver practically brand new last year for under $150 and just added the honma sand wedge for under $100. They are known for expensive, hand made steel so I'm comfortable rolling the dice on em.

Very great soft feeling irons.. I had the TW-X's.

But beware.... if you are a tinkerer and like to try different clubs, you'll get your lunch taken away from you with the resale on them. Their value PLUMMETS from brand new to used...
