New Seamus NBA Headcovers

Just received the new Seamus NBA Orlando Magic headcover. I actually ordered this back on June 1. At the time, Seamus only had a handful of NBA teams on their site so I emailed asking if they could do a Magic one, and they said they could. They sent me a graphic template of how it would look so I agreed and paid the almost $100 for the cover. They ended up not being able to ship it until all teams were formally released on the website. That was about last week so that’s why I got mine today.

Having owned Seamus covers, I know that the softer cotton fabric can fade so I was concerned buying a mostly black headcover but I loved the classic Orlando Magic logo. The classic pinstripes would have made the design better IMO. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the cover is in fact made of a nylon which I’m assuming is way more durable and less prone to fading.

The big issue I have is how the logos were applied, especially the top basketball logo. They were not embroidered but instead attached using some sort of stick-on or heat transfer process. The top logo looks extremely cheap and looks like a simple sticker was applied. The big “Orlando” logo looks ok.

To spend almost $100 on a single headcover, I am very disappointed with the quality. I’ve owned several (you can see a Seamus putter cover in the background) so I was expecting another similar high quality cover.

I did email Seamus letting them know and asking if I have any options, including if they can redo it with at least having the top logo embroidered. Still waiting on a reply.

the heat embossed thing looks very not durable to me as well

One thing Seamus for sure has is great customer service. They’ve always done right by me and if they can’t offer an embroidered one, then at the very least we can process a warranty (if needed) and switch it for a replacement.

and while I don't think they'll do anything embroidery wise, I know they'll stand behind it if the sticker/heat press whatever fails

I would be salty with paying 100 for that, I feel I could heat transfer that myself on an old, black headcover. Especially given the fact Rawhide golf makes sick custom leather headcovers for the same price, would really be irritated at myself.

Sure thing man, Caleb has been awesome, hes shipping a custom out tomorrow that he did and I cant wait to have it in hand. Good comms through the process, and pictures of progress through the way to go along with some top notch artistic ability. He could probably hook you up with some cool ideas if youre trying to rep your squad.

A cool idea with the sports teams and to skirt the need for licensing approval if you run into that, is to send them maybe an old hat/shirt/jersey you have and they can use the logos from that item since you bought it without having to go through the hoops of approval.

Would love to see what he does for you. I checked out his Instagram and liked what he pulled off. I saw a lot of WWE wrestlers and other licensed properties so I’m hoping he can do an one-off NBA cover without jumping through a lot of hoops. I do like the idea of using material and logos from another product but that would drastically increase the price of the cover for me.

For sure man, Ill keep you posted. I have a Dormie driver one and love it, and then inquired about a custom with them for the 49ers and they mentioned the likeness/licensing stuff, and suggested the work around with the logos off stuff I had. I thought about, and instead decided to shelf it and think about it and in the time being saw one of the Rawhide ones on their IG and LOVED the idea, and sent Caleb some emails with an updated idea on the existing take on the IG, and he went with it. Should get it this week. It does seem so far, Rawhide has the ability to do some more specific team/character etc stuff.

Good choice. When paying that much for custom golf flair, you have every right to be completely satisfied. Good luck on your quest.

I never used it. I put it on to take the pic but that was it. Spoke with someone at Seamus and when they saw the pic, they understood why I’m not happy. They sent me a shipping label and it’s already en route back to them.

Thats garbage isnt not stitched in for that price. I could have made that.

They only charge like $50 originally, absolute high quality, not a single inch that isnt full stitched in.

Yea as others have stated, that shouldn’t be $100 and Seamus typically always delivers a quality product.

I like Seamus as a company and what they stand for but from a headcover and pricing standpoint I have found their stuff to be pretty overrated.
