J33 Combos vs. 704's or CG2's forgiveness

Can anyone enlighten me on this? Since finding this forum popular opinion has piqued my interest in Bridgestone woods and irons, they are also one of the best priced forged club I can get in Australia. Narrowed it down to these three clubs. Like the looks of the Bridgestone as I want an iron I can play for a long time. Low single figures is the goal.

the cg2's have very good feel for a cast set. i played the 704's for the early part of the season and really hated them. didn't get any decent perfromance out of them and got rid of them as soon as i could. with regards to the J 33's i think those would be your winner. not only are they a combo set so you can benefit from a blade like short iron but the longer irons are very forgiving. you won't be disappointed at all with bridgestone and you might even wanna go out and get more of their clubs, that's what happened with me....started with the combos and ended up with their wedges, the air muscle and 3 wd not to mention my brother having their blades and their other hybrid.

I have tried all three, and the 704 are designed to be the most forgiving of the group. However, the sole was so wide that it did not work well for me in the turf conditions here in Florida. The CG2, IMO, will be more forgiving than the J33 based on head size alone. They are a nice set of irons, with a very unique feel and sound. I really enjoyed hitting them, and would have no problems recommending tham to you. That said, IMo, the J33s are about as sweet a set of irons as you can find. Make no mistake, they are more demanding than the other sets due to their smaller profile and blade designs in the short irons. However, they are more forgiving than many in the long irons due to their tungsten weighting. They have the best feel look and sound of the irons you have listed, and are a tremndous bargain these days. Not knowing much about your game, it is difficult for me to recommend one of these to you, but if I were buying, I would get the J33s, followed closely by the CG2s, and the 704s would be a distant third (and I have an all titleist bag!!).

Steve, what can you tell me about the other Bridgestone clubs in your bag?

I am a huge cleveland fan/ho, but I would advise against the CG2's. Horrible durability and I always had to use one club extra with my cg2's. I have both a tour set and a retail set.

The Bridgestones are great but you have to watch out with the combo's, if you're not used to a muscle back 8&9 iron it may be tough. That and the yardage gap between the 7 and 8 iron was too large. But for a low handicapper they are a great option!!!

the three wood i have is as solid a fairway wood that's out and many others can attest to that as well. nice deep face that is a killer off the tee but also great off the deck as well. the wedges are extremely soft and come with a very versitile sole grind. my brother loves the blades and the playability of the set is incredibile. the airmuscle and hybrid clubs are awesome compliments if your looking for that gap between your 3 wd and 3 iron. both offer forgiveness and the playability all depending on which style you prefer.
