UST Recoil Graphite Shafts (rookie here with question)

Hi all,

 

I bought these graphite shafts off of ebay and having a tech install them to Srixon z585 iron heads.

 

Are these specs standard?  I know nothing about shafts.

look standard to me, are they going into 4 to PW or are you soft stepping into 5 to GW ?

I have used the same shafts for a couple sets of irons and like them a lot.  They are smooth and launch high.  Assuming you want the Z585's to play at standard lengths, he should know this or find out easily.  You can see the specs for yourself here:  https://www.srixon.com/us/clubs/mens-golf-clubs/irons/z-585-irons/MZ585-EA.html

I actually spoke with him and he told me to get the 370 PT tip so he can cut it himself (a blank).

 

And to answer an earlier question, it's for 5-PW.

 

My only concern is that the shaft is too light.  I have it in a 7 iron right now and I can't decide if I want to keep it or get the UST Recoil 95.

Srixons are not Parallel tip but Taper .355

Wanting to try Recoil 95's in my Srixon Z565/765 combo irons. I'd be going from Nippon Modus 105 shafts. Anyone have any idea how much of a swing weight drop there would be in this swap? Thats my only worry?

I doubt you'll loose any swing weight.  Can't speak for the Nippons but you could replace a 127 gm DG s300 with the Recoil 95's F4 and the swing weight would stay the same.   If you replaced a KBS Tour 120 S with the 95 Recoils you'd actually gain a point.

 

That's of course assuming you'd replace any existing tip weights in the current build with similar equivalent ones for graphite shafts.  You can't reuse steel shaft tip weights in graphite shafts.

Don't have any weights in the tips of my steel shafts now. Your probably correct in that you would not lose much SW but overall weight would drop and its just how much would it and would you notice it much?
