Best Vest For Cold Weather?

I rolled the dice on the hooded vest from Solo — was on the fence on whether I could ‘pull it off’ — and have been very pleased with the purchase. Have played in low 40s wearing the vest over my lined rain/wind jacket and have been plenty warm.

picked up an 800 fill down eddie bauer vest, to someone else's point here- if you walk, you'll never need more than a down vest, undearmour and light sweater.

Do you have another battery recommendation, this one sold out. Or another overall recommendation. It's been a year since this post. I love in northeast, so it gets cold in winter months.

I have a Uniqlo ultralight down vest that I've completely forgotten about, thanks to this thread I'm going to give it a try next time I play in the cold.  Packs down tiny and weighs next to nothing.

Any slim 10000 slim amh battery will work. Just type that into Amazon.

Agree 100% on the wool for cold weather.  I'll wear a wool v-neck any time I can get away with it in colder weather, and usually a long sleeve merino t shirt under there as well, depending on conditions.  My golf vests aren't wool but I tend to wear those over a lighter weight merino wool anyway, so the wool is always part of the equation.  Cool and damp weather - merino wool socks are a must! Heck, I wear them all the time playing golf even when it is 90 degrees plus - so much more comfortable and less funky than polyester.

Depending on the temperature and wind I usually wear either a North Face Apex vest or a Patagonia Down Sweater vest.
