Pretty GREAT golf gift

Recommended Posts

I just bought this magnetic laser rangefinder holder thing on Amazon.

I've used it two rounds so far on some pretty bumpy almost frozen terrain. The thing never budged. Easy to grab, shoot and replace. It attaches to anything metal, including club heads if you carry.

So if people are asking for gift ideas, try one. There are several models available. Around $30 - worth every cent.

Here's the ONE I bought but several other styles/brands are out there.

Pretty cool, but I'm envisioning a lot of returned carts with rangefinders attached.  The bright red should help (unless you are color blind).

I use the Stickit branded one of these and while it is convenient, I do leave it on the cart anytime I ride.  Luckily the guys in the cart barn put it back in my bag for me.

Historically, I have left two rangefinders behind, but both of those were in the dark recess of the carts' "glove compartment" area. Luckily, in each incident,  I got the rangefinder back

This is much easier to see during the final cart exit.

Where do you guys keep your laser when using a riding cart?

I don't often ride in a cart, but when I do, I usually put the rangefinder in one of the cup holders.  If there happens to be no cup holder space available, I put it in the space under the 'dash', which is where it can be easily forgotten for sure.

I keep mine in a bag pocket. Too afraid I'll forget it.

Any walkers using these and have no issues with it falling off a club head?

I use one and walk with it on an iron head. I have had it fall off quite a few times. Probably falls off once every 5 rounds because I don’t put it on all the way. I’m paranoid about it so I feel for it when I pick up my bag so it’s not a far walk to grab it when it falls off.

I’ve been using this for years and did leave the rangefinder on the cart once. The habit I’ve grooved is to put it away in the bag after I laser my approach on 18.

^^^ +1 on this as well.  Option B --- I also listen to music and have a G-ROK Wireless speaker (awesome by the way w/ powerful magnets) and I let the music play until I have everything out of the cart and the speaker is the last thing that gets pulled and turned off so it provides a final reminder to look there.

I just bought the golf ball one from StickIt/Monument Golf. It fits ok around my GX-4i3, thinking I’ll like it more when I’m on the course.

only down side is, now I have to figure out a new storage for it as the rangefinder won’t fit in the case now with it on.  So find something else or remove and install it each time.
