Why Heart icons for likes?

The use of a heart to signify that you like something just seems odd to me.

Is it possible to replace the heart icon for likes with something like a thumbs up icon instead?

When this latest board software first showed up there WAS a "thumbs up" for "likes".

 

They changed it. I asked about it and, I forget, but there was either some sort of reason given OR I was just told there WAS a reason.

 

It's just a "thing" with me - I don't like giving a "heart" (love ?) for "likes". Thumbs up is MUCH better IMO.

Haha, it is a little awkward if you think about it, but I often react to posts the same way I often post --- without thinking!

Me too. Thinking is overrated. If people think you aren't that bright they don't ask you a lot of questions and they leave you alone. 🤣
