My Day / Laguna

Is there a custom putter maker that makes this style in left hand? I have done some searching and can’t seem to find anything. I have an old Ping My Day, and still love it. But I wouldn’t mind a modern take on it if that’s even possible. I have seen the Bettinardi BB1, but again, no lefties. Anyone know if this can be done by anyone?

As mentioned NCW can print you anything you want, may be a bit costly but almost zero limitations. 

 

Josey at MackMade has done a few in RH but he'll mill anything in LH as well.

David at Goodwood has a new model called a Sunday that is a Laguna. Not sure if he has lefties though.

Just looked them up. That one looks good! Don’t think they make it lefty though based on the website. I will send an email or something to check.

So I spoke with Dave at Goodwood and he said he has had some interest in this style in left hand. He essentially said he needs to be able to presell a certain amount before it is worth his while to order in the left hand heads. I told him if he could make this one in lefty, I would be interested... Looks good. We will see if anything comes of it, but its not looking like it.

How many does he need to sell? I'm sure it could get enough interest if the price is right which it usually is with Goodwood.

He told me that he orders the heads in batches of 10. So he usually won't order unless he has commitments for 4 or 5 of them... Have you contacted him direct? Would you be interested? I see you are in Canada as well, so our exchange rate kind of hurts us right now, but I would strongly consider it if there were others.

Our dollar is better now than a few month ago.

 

But it's a nice head, not a shape I've played before but I'm planning something else so cannot commit to a head. I'm sure if he posted a rendering on his IG then a few lefties would probably jump on it for his price point.

So plan B maybe. Does anyone know of someone we can refinish a Ping My Day? I am hoping to make my old one look like a Faxon... Is this even possible? I have no idea, I have no knowledge or experience with refinishing putters. Maybe its not at all possible, but thought I would ask. I would love to get it all fixed up, somehow increase the head weight (right now there is a pile of lead tape on the sole).

I think with the cast head you're very limited on option and who if anyone will even touch it for a refinish that I know of. There isn't a way to really get it looking the same as the cast head will have the rough look to them and if they refinish it the putter will be even lighter than before.

If your head is bronze you could do something like the below linkand then do white and yellow/orange paint fill. I did this to my Anser 5K gamer. Also put black shrink wrap tubing on the shaft and regripped with a white iomic grip. Won't soon bump into another like it on the course.
