Takomo 101 Irons

These look amazing and seem to fit in along the lines of a p790 or Sub 70 699 ? They've been featured on James Robinson golf as well as TXG with promising reviews but I literally can't find anything else about them. Anyone with any feedback on these ?

I think we're all just waiting for them to be released. You were able to order them with June ETA, but now their website just shows an option to get added to the waitlist with "coming soon."

I'm also a little shocked that nobody has a set of these to comment on. Just seems odd that they are sold out before any have been sold ?  No information on the company which seems odd as well. Hopefully it's not an elaborate scam to get $450 from thousands of golfers before running off to Cancun with all the money ?

Might have been a short run of only 100 or so sets. The response was huge, they might have sold out in a day or a week.

These look great!  Similar head shape to sub70 699’s. Much cleaner look though.

I ordered 2 sets of heads 3 weeks ago and I got an email from Takomo saying the heads only will be shipped out mid to end of June. Heads will be faster and shipped first. Yahoooo! The irons look fabulous.  I have a set of Aerotech i80 shafts going into them.

I ordered third week of May with expected shipping end of June, unfortunately looks like there's been a delay. Now expected to ship mid-July 😞

The heads were $400 CDN a set. $50 shipping. They should be arriving this week July 12th according to Sebastian from Takomo. There was a delay at the foundry.

Still can't believe that on a golf site as big as golfwrx  there still isn't one person with a set of these in hand ?

     I think Takomo kind of blew it.

     They  had the TXG thing and I ordered the irons May 22 and a month later they told me several more weeks. So I asked for a partial refund on June 23 when I changed to just the iron heads, still I was told it would be weeks, and so I cancelled everything June 29 (and after 2 weeks I still haven't even gotten the original partial refund yet, not to mention the full refund yet).

   So I spent $150 more for a like new set of pxg's 0311xp's ...Takomo had me interested for awhile and then the enchantment wore off...

    It's too bad, I tried to be supportive--even after requesting the refund, I tried to be understanding when they said the refund would come 10 days later...but still no refund yet. I will contact my cc company tomorrow. 

 

Addendum: Eventually received full refund, and I wish Tacomo the best success.

Addendum: partial Takomo refund came last night.

That sucks.  I've lost faith in them too.  Lack of communication after signing up for the email notification and hearing nothing, I mean nothing.  Website said more coming in June, then it changed to July and still nothing.  Might have a good product, but if you don't know how to provide customer service, you are doomed.

I think when I laid out money it was supposedly 2 weeks until delivery.

Since when is a pre-order ever available now? My BGD's were a pre-order and came about 6 weeks late. They were delayed like basically everything else.

 

<edit> and how do you know there are "better options" when you've never hit these? Pretty much everything is backordered.

I requested notification when stock was available, a few weeks later an email came stating a small amount are in stock.

Add to this, the email had no business info, Logo, Contact details, surname etc. nor what role/position Sebastian has, all very unusual.

 

Email read:-

Hope you are well. 

I'm emailing you, because you requested to be notified when the Iron 101 was back in stock and available for order.

 

We have a very limited batch coming in stock. These are with the standard setup and unfortunately we can't customize these. We have some with R, S and X-stiff flex shafts available if the standard lengths fit you. Shipping time will be around the first week of July.
