Ferrari looked strong yesterday, but the front tires die in the race, so I doubt they will pull it off. I would love to see Charles make it to a podium, that would be awesome.

After that epic fail of a pit stop he closed that 5 second gap quick. After he passed Charles it was hammer down. Poor Charles was still 5 seconds back at the end.

And now Porsche is buying half of Williams since Red Bull wasn't willing to give up half. So will Williams be back up front soon?

Went to the race over the weekend (my first one) and it was such an awesome experience. If you guys haven't been, definitely throw it on the bucket list. It was incredible. It helped that it was one of the more exciting races of the season too

Seeing those cars in person making those turns was surreal. Also got greeted by an old RB car in the airport, and saw DR's 2020 Renault (with the alpine livery) at a hotel

The wife and I have talked about Vegas because oddly enough I've never been. But it also wouldn't be nearly the same with the straight down the strip. 🤣

But with 3 races here now I will go to one soon.

So ALonso gets nailed with a post race penalty for his mirror coming off, but Perez can drive 6 laps with his endplate dangling....  must be good to be constructors champions.

That's just FIA doing FIA things. Not sure they have ever been consistent..

I'll be curious to see how Vegas is. It's crazy enough without 300k-400k extra people.

Really enjoyed Austin though. Definitely recommend getting the shuttle if you go to COTA. The line for Ubers was absurd and i waited about 15 minutes for the shuttle after the race/podium celebration and like 5 minutes after quali

As much as I love F1 and love Vegas - go 2-3x a year - I just cant see this being a great race for fans. Doesnt seem like they are going to have any huge grandstands on the Strip as it stands right now and without seeing any maps I cant see how its going to be great for fans.

Not saying they wont sell out and that it wont be packed - it just honestly seems like one of those races that is going to be much better on TV than it is in person.

Unless you can get a balcony room at the Cosmo, in which case you wont need tickets. IMO those will be the best seats in the house.

My guess is those rooms will go for $2-3k/night for that weekend. But - if you dont need race tickets - suddenly that doesnt become too unreasonable.

Yeah, I'm waiting to see what the various packages are. We might end up going to Austin to see a race. Miami is pretty much out of the question. While I've never really felt a need to visit Texas before, I'm pretty sure there isn't a reason to go to Florida.

Not above paying for good tickets but for something like this - just not sure what the sightlines will be.

Amex offers open up tomorrow morning, will see what the prices are like. But - if the tickets dont include a room as part of a package - its probably going to be tough to justify.

Definitely agree with this. I also have my doubts about it actually being a good race as its yet another street track. Will definitely be a spectacle though

With the lights of the Strip and the noise banging off the hotels - it will definitely be a spectacle.

Noticed a couple of weeks ago when I was out there that the land F1 bought has already been fenced off with "Future home of F1" wrap - although it did not look like much had been built just yet. Not really a ton of time left either - one year to go.

Seems like maybe a year 2 thing to go to - give them a year to shake out the mess.

I never made it through the AmEx queue yesterday but I was not impressed with the grandstands they showed. The East Harmon section near the start finish line had two small grandstands and the one near the Sphere had two *very* small grandstands.

Not sure whats going on here tbh - where are all the fans supposed to go?

$1800/nt for base rooms at Caesars that weekend, $1000 at Flamingo.

And the tickets themselves are 2.5K or so.

I'm sure going to a GP is cool, and I'm sure Vegas is a lot of fun, but there are other trips I'd much rather take for at least 6K. Hell, spend 3K to go to one of the Euro GPs and then spend the other 3K on a week on a beach somewhere.

It also sounds like the tickets are broken up into areas and a ticket in one area isn't good for all the other areas. Usually a GA type ticket let's you wander around.

So if Lando is sick, we get to see what Nyck can do in his car with a sprint race. This is gonna be a good weekend.

Congrats to KMag for the pole in the sprint race. Well done. That said Max will crush everyone in the races.

For me, Checo didn't let Max pass him, he got taken. There is a huge difference between letting a teammate pass to fight up front and getting passed by your teammate because you are slow.

If you get passed because you are slow, there is no place to give back.
