I have Zero Restriction Stealth which is a few years old now but works great for waterproof and stretches.   No issues with this jacket during the swing.

I second the Stealth.  Great Goretex jacket works well in the rain.  I also have a Zero Restriction Pinnacle short sleeve pullover (non-Goretex) that also is excellent in the rain.  Stretchy material and is slightly more breathable in hot summer rains than the Stealth.  Both are stylish and don't impede the swing in any way.

I have been plagued with rounds in pouting rain, and quite frankly if I travel many miles and pay north of 100 it's safe to say I am going to play. It's been my experience that to achieve a cost effective breathability that the manufactures sacrifice "water proof" for "water resistance" and in a light intermittent rain this is fine. But the membrane coating cant compete with a steady constant rain. My Adidas and Sun Mountain sets both failed about 20 min in. Granted they are not Gortex or solid plastic, but they breath keeping you cooler. However they soon became water logged and heavy. My last outing left me pruned all over after 18. I was squishing around in my 2 yr guaranteed waterproof shoes as well so take it for what it is. I assume that the manufacturers do not expect the majority to play 18 in driving rain.

I forgot to add that when I was a competitive cyclist, the only rain jacket that kept me dry was a plastic one, but It was a sweat filled sauna inside. I usually chose to ride wet unless it was cooler temps...

while I prefer a jacket style to pulling something wet over my head, I have both types.

FJ Hydrolite has never let me down.

RLX quarter zip is really nice, stretchy as you mentioned. has enough heft for a chilly morning when layered.

an ultra lightweight Polo Golf long sleeve full zip impressed the heck out of me.

one layer poly with two extra inside pockets. trim fit. might not stand up to Bandon type rain but fine for local stuff. folds down to almost nothing.

I am a big fan of lightweight GoreTex, jackets... however, in a constant downpour, even these jackets will have difficulties shedding/wicking all of the moisture. If I am forced to play in heavy rain, I would opt for the GoreTex jackets and a quality Umbrella... and about a half dozen gloves.

Try a short sleeve pullover style in Goretex.  Superb water resistance and being short sleeve (I'm 6'2" and the sleeve comes down to my elbow) it gives excellent breathing through the arms.  I don't care if my forearms get wet as long as my torso stays dry so nothing sticks to me. I have a couple ZR models that work well.

The 1st thing you need to do is get educated on how to care for "Water Proof items"  Nothing is permanently water proof and no matter if it's Gore-Tex or something

else they need to be washed when they get dirty and DWR ( Durable waterproof repellent ) needs to be reapplied periodically.  I have literally thousands of dollars worth

of Rain Gear for outdoor activities from companies like Arc-Teryx , Patagoinia and Zero Restriction ( All levels of Gore-Tex ) and I use Grainger products to care for them. They

are available on Amazon.
